"Battling" or "beefing" Drake is pointless.

Basically.

Drake moves like Jay at this point…

If I was him, I’d settle down and find a Beyoncé and start investing his paper into some different business ventures because the writings on the wall. His days are numbered.

Meek sold 250k first week after the beef. Benzino wasn't really shyt before his beef wit Em. Canibus fukked up his own momentum by dropping wack albums.
Meek probably the only one that recovered a bit cause he made peace. Ja, Zino and Canibus got ethered out of existence.

It’s been like that forever lol. Wayne kissing baby got a pass… folks like Ross with the CO and it got a pass… we can keep going. Gunna got a pass… depending on who you are the pass is there. We’ve heard scathing diss tracks before and it didn’t end shyt. Idk why folks still think it’s gonna happen.
It’s human nature. People give a pass to people they like.

Ja Rule, Meek, Benzino, Canibus :usure:

Meek going to prison and sitting down for a couple summers actually reset his career

Canibus put out wack albums and threw Wyclef under a bus after the first one

Interscope took Benzino out by pulling the ads out the Source and handing em(no pun intended) to XXL.

Ja suffered some setbacks due to the fed case with Murder Inc, they ended up losing their distribution with DJ

No, this is just cope for other rappers not making as much good music as Drake up through Scorpion or so. If Drake is "pop", so is Biggie, Tupac, DMX, Jay-Z, and Eminem. Which makes a "real rapper" vs. pop dichotomy completely dumb.

He did…

Meek realized that he was zoinked off those pills. The master manipulator in this was Nicki but at the end of the day, Meek got to to smash Nicki while Drake was still in the friend zone.

Disagree

Because of his past beefs with Meek and Pusha, Drake’s whole fake persona as a well-respected MC has been exposed

Because of the ghostwriting, no true hip-hop head will ever look at him the same way.

That's part of the point being made in the OP.

Hip-hop heads don't run the rap fanbase anymore and haven't for a long, long time.

So, yeah, no true hip-hop head will look at him the same way; but in the totality of music and rap as a genre, that doesn't hold a lot of weight.

Thus, the Drake machine will keep rolling.

True but its damaging to HIM

Its like saying Ether made no impact on Hov in the grand scheme of things which is false.

Hov’s braggadocios nature fell back and it cemented Nas as the superior MC.

Its a stain on his career just like Story of Addidon is a stain on Drake’s

Sure, but as I said in the Euphoria thread, he sheds a tear in the bathroom of his private plane. It may matter to him; but I doubt it matters as much to him as it does to fans who care about these kinds of things.

And the number of fans who care about these kinds of things are fewer and fewer.

I thought we’d at least make it to Drake’s response before we got to the “it’s not fair…funny voices and pretending like you’re a 2nd grader encountering a biracial person for the first time in life isn’t enough to reverse being the definitive rapper of his generation :to:“ stage of things again

Definitely not pointless…reality doesn’t bear this out, in reality dissing Drake is the biggest, cheapest pop pretty much imaginable…dissing Drake is like when generic babyfaces come out to a house show in Birmingham wearing a Bama jersey and screams out “Roll Tide! :gladbron:“….simple ass rap smarks can’t get enough of it….the ten or so days people actually gave a fukk about Story of Addion in real life were the proudest moments of Pusha T’s life, it’s the closest he’s gotten to being the Hov level A-List rap figure he’s being crying about not being for literally 20 years ….Future’s entire rollout for a double album was comped by assembling an allstar team to diss drake ….people pretended to care about Rick Ross for the first time in years because he called Drake “white boy!!” repeatedly….Kendrick is launching his entire rebrand from the flopped My Aunt is a Man album off of dissing Drake…the entire rap gossip media complex is thriving off of Drake disses …Heel Drake is carrying hip hop, like Mayweather fighting a random Mexican every cinco de mayo….hes the damn near the only draw in the biz

Precisely. When Remi Ma dropped She-ther and nothing happened to Nicki, I knew the game changed.

Drake is too connected and a lot of rappers and other miscellaneous people broke and still break bread with him.

The fanbase is like 75% pop, 25% street. The old guard pays attention, but they even underestimate how wack shyt is now.

It’s the content and intent tho. When Drake was exposed having ghostwriters that should’ve been the begging of the end. When Pusha T exposed the blackface photo that should’ve been the nail in the coffin.

But the powers that be and fans either ignored it or made excuses. And all parties involved aren’t up and coming artists. They’ve all been in the game for 10 + years.

They’re all past their prime and rap music as a genre is in shambles. There’s no new artists rising.

If Kendrick and Drake were going to do this, it should’ve been done years ago. It’s too little too late.
drake was getting clowned on social media for weeks after that, the problem is the streets don’t dictate what’s hot in hip hop anymore compared to when you would get ran out of hip hop and exposed in magazines or on the radio back when disses hit harder.

drake pretty much fits what the typical hip hop fan base is now.

It didn’t help that Meek isn’t a battle rapper. Neither was Drake. So Meek had nothing to gain going after Drake.

Canibus had a buzz, and his LL diss only created a bigger buzz. He simply didn’t pick the right production for his first album.

As for Ja Rule, 50 simply had a classic first album and the music landscape shifted. It also didn’t help that 50 was affiliated with Eminem. 50 represented the new guard.
