when i hear about other cities ala Chicago in my mind i be like,"woo dere,shyt sound like a Colombian battlefield" but when i hear people complaining about the Bay i just presume they gentrified cracka minded morons who i don't want here anyways,prolly like the TS is

its that psychological effect of knowing your own territory/jungle,mapping it out,and knowing how to maneuver within it,you know it so well nothing said fazes you

I agree, for people visiting, leaving SF isn't needed.. but OP is going to be a resident so it doesn't hurt letting him know about all the cities in the bay

that's exactly how I feel. Born and raised in Oakland, I know how to get around, I know people, and I know that other than getting your car broken into, maybe robbed, there's not much else to worry about in the hood if you ain't involved in that life. But I've live in dc and now Chicago, man, Ill be damned if I step foot across certain boundaries lol

Hilltop used to be even worse back in the day. I was a lil nygga with my auntie back in the 90s and funk popped off in the mall.

Yeah bruh, back in the day the sh1t used to go down @ Hilltop and Eastmont.

@ Hilltop you had all them AC transit buses droppin nikkaz off from these different high schools.....The Contra Costa College bus circle was just as bad also.....Cats from de anza, kennedy, richmond, el cerrito, and everybody would kick it @ Hilltop. Even when different turfs was funkin with each other......Fun times though @ Hilltop. One of my potnas used to work @ the dollar movies and would let us all in for free. Free popcorn, pop, candy, all that sh1t.....

They would play flicks that wasn't even in theaters no more. We didn't give a fvck, nikkaz would bring a b1tch in that muthafukka and be smashin in the back, tell ole girl to wear a skirt with the slits and no drwaz

I think cats are overstating it a bit too. I've had more issues with frat boys in SF than I have with nikkas in the east bay. Most of them is cool and live by the don't start none won't be none creed. I'm not saying that ain't some wild ones running round, but they ain't running up with guns on everybody. if dudes just nod and be chill won't shyt happen to them

Salute, even the grimiest nikkas in east oakland will say hi to you and help an old lady cross the street, its not as ruthless and deadly out here as these scary orinda cacs will have you believing. nikkas remember faces and know whos who.

so ur going to ignore all the STABBINGS AND SHOOTINGS that happen at that mall and focus only on the yelp reviews...

theres a reason people are leaving shtty reviews.. and its because people go in there n get shanked n stabbed. when i was in h.s i went in there once to buy some jeans n there was this huge brawl outside the champs store near macys.. bunch of ignorant mexican dudes brawling over who knows what..

Those incidents were isolated shyt like that happens all the time at westfield and can also go down anywhere people from different backgrounds and area congregate bruh people go to southland to handle their business and have a good time like any other mall aint nobody gonna beat you up just for living.

Except for a few turfs in EPA, Oakland, Frisco, Richmond, etc the bay is actually chill but the disparity between life in the hood and life outside of it is even bigger than other places though since its expensive out here and the cacs make more than 5x what the average hood nikka makes.

1) there is no great mall in concord, great mall is in militias and the mall in concord (forgot its name) sucks
2) best east bay shopping is in walnut creek (a bit more high end) or pleasanton for mainstream, if you're looking for shoes exclusively, then southland, bay fair, and hilltop are fine

3) San Jose is just ok IMO for partying, the police out there are haters for sure, SF has the coolest po po IMO, those dudes used to let us do whatever as long as nothing was getting fukked up. SF has the a good mix of nightlife, from big money, cocaine laced spots like to red room, to strip clubs, to regular hip hop joints. Oakland has a good bar/lounge scene but it's hit or miss. San Jose used to have the good Sunday night parties at agenda (this was like 4-5 yrs ago tho...haven't live in the bay since 08). The one thing I hate about the bay is it isn't really a place where people go out during the week, you can get friends and go to a bar, but don't expect to have fun with a lot of other ppl unless you're in SF.


4) go to taco Tuesday's at nicks in SF, get your tacos nicks way...you won't regret it

Great Mall has almost the same amount of stores as walnut creek and stoneridge combined, if youre looking for a variety of stores and being able to get almost anything in 1 visit nothing in the bay beats great mall.

^^^ quantity doesn't equal quality. Why would I put myself through walking around the big ass great mall, immersed in 300 stores for only 8 of them to be relevant? I'd rather have a concentration of 20 stores that I shop at among 100 shops, versus only being interested in 10 outta 300. So much of great mall is filler, plus there are better outlets in gilory and Vacaville (I'll have to check Livermore the next time I go home)

regb ur trippin. greatmall is outlets aka the sht that doesnt sell at walnut creek and stoneridge gets shipped there. 23203920 stores but its all oldass sht that nobody wants. only store there worth the trip is nike and theres no bart access so why even mention it

and please show me people getting shot and shanked at westfield sf at the same rate as the are at southland.... all while remembering that westfield SF/union square is a major shopping/eating destination for locals and tourists. there are way more people there at any given point with less crime. southland is a turd

And I went to Harlem the first time I was in New York, I enjoyed the experience more than anything I did in Lower Manhattan.
I don't think of malls the way you do. They either have what I want or they don't.
Malls are shopping centers, not a validation of your life.

I only fukk with Oakland, Berkeley, and frisco..every other city in the bay (special shout out to emeryville and marin county cuz they know the deal) is void of culture..i swear when I go to places like San Jose, hayward, san leandro, Vallejo or any other city in the bay, nikkas think I'm from the future..I tell em I'm not..my brain waves are tapped to a higher frequency..which is the Real Bay

some people are just used to living and being around low income sht and squalor. im glad the world renown /world class attractions in harlem are more "fun" to you than those in mid/lower manhattan. also sounds like you'd have more fun spending a day at hilltop mall than downtown san francisco
