All to discredit this man... :francis:

The fervor with which they are going at Bernie you would think he was to the right of Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. I think it's because Bernie exposes the hypocrisy of the entire establishment. The whole lot of them including the establishment media.

He is an existential threat to the oligarchical hegemony that currently runs US politics, economics and big business

That's particularly the major problem Bernie Sanders doesn't seem to kiss the establishments ass. He seems like he's a herl for the people and you know those in power don't want this man to fukk up their gravy train in anyway...

We need more people like this. The balance is off in the world and it needs to be corrected.

LOL what a pathetic attempt to derail Bernie's momentum.

No, he doesn't know the details of how he'd breakup the banks because he's going to let the banks do it. He's not going to sit there and break up the company personally. So stupid, yet the mainstream paid media is trying to treat it like some gotcha moment. Pathetic.

:russell: This is much to do about nothing.

Pettifogging the details to look like Bernie doesn't know what he is talking about. Example:

Daily News: Okay. But do you have a sense that there is a particular statute or statutes that a prosecutor could have or should have invoked to bring indictments?

Sanders: I suspect that there are. Yes.

Daily News: You believe that? But do you know?

Sanders: I believe that that is the case. Do I have them in front of me, now, legal statutes? No, I don't. But if I would...yeah, that's what I believe, yes. When a company pays a $5 billion fine for doing something that's illegal, yeah, I think we can bring charges against the executives.

Okay, ....how many people who are not trained lawyers that work for the DOJ would know without reference which legal statutes to invoke to bring indictments? A president sets the tone by directing his AG to pursue indictments against the banks and the AG would advise the president on the best way forward.

Bro don't even get hype about this. The entire ACA was written and decided by voters and legislators after Obama won the presidency. This is a non issue.

Overall, this interview made me more confident in his being a good choice for president. The first set of questions concerning his specific plans to "break up the banks", he didn't have great answers, you're right.

But even if he doesn't have a 100% plan on how to mitigate the risk of "to big to fail" institutions, and how to fight back against the ever-widening gap in wealth and income disparities in this country, the fact is, no one does.

Why? Because no one is taking the problem seriously, that's the first step. I like that he's asking the questions and starting with the position that something has to be done and that this is a moral question as much as a logistics/economic one. When it comes time to make the actual decisions, I'm confident that he will push to make the decision that is as beneficial as possible for lower and middle class people.

Read up on his time as Mayor of Burlington. It'll give you a glimpse in how he would operate as an executive rather than a legislator.

His campaign on Tuesday released a statement on how a Sanders administration would take on the issue, also stating that he and rival Clinton "have very different points of view on how to reform Wall Street and the largest financial institutions in this country." The statement reads, in part:

Within the first 100 days of his administration, Sen. Sanders will require the secretary of the Treasury Department to establish a “Too-Big-to Fail” list of commercial banks, shadow banks and insurance companies whose failure would pose a catastrophic risk to the United States economy without a taxpayer bailout.

Within a year, the Sanders administration will work with the Federal Reserve and financial regulators to break these institutions up using the authority of Section 121 of the Dodd-Frank Act.

Sen. Sanders will also fight to enact a 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act to clearly separate commercial banking, investment banking and insurance services. Secretary Clinton opposes this extremely important measure.

President Franklin Roosevelt signed the Glass-Steagall Act into law precisely to prevent Wall Street speculators from causing another Great Depression. And, it worked for more than five decades until Wall Street watered it down under President Reagan and killed it under President Clinton. That is unacceptable and that is why Sen. Sanders will fight to sign the Warren-McCain bill into law.

Several times during the interview, Sanders expressed uncertainty over facts, said he couldn't give a proper answer to a question because he didn't have all the relevant information, or simply stated, "I don't know."
In one exchange, Sanders acknowledged that he wasn't sure exactly how he intended to break up the big banks, a proposal that has been a centerpiece of his Wall Street reform agenda.

This is a really bad look for Bernie, he's starting to look really shaky.
