The N29 (night bus) especially was an adventure in itself! I think they've cracked down on it now. But I remember hearing about everything from robberies to drug deals gone wrong on that bus. I've taken a lot of the stories with a pinch of salt cos you know how these things develop into urban legends.

Oh yeah, do you remember Sega World? This was back in the late 90s though when WG was still good.

But yeah, WG at night isn't the place to stroll around by yourself....at least not on the side roads and alleys.

Grew up in bethnal, dalston and havkney before the hipster era, dalston amazes me nowadays, there is a boy band on X factor called kingsland road

In the 80's/90's, they would've been walking home with no trainers on, holly street gang would've been on them

Yeah true, Dalston is a proper hippy area now think due to being close to the city so a lot of investment has done in t hat area, blacks being pushed out. Similar to how Brixton has now changed.

Init in my day (80s baby) Dalston high road was like a mini Jamaica lol

You must be my age to remember Toys R Us in Wood Green, that was years ago. It was huge, just think of all the shops there now that has replaced it and that just used to be 1 shop.

Remember Sports Zone down the road in Palmers Green, that was the spot now its some Polish place. Same as Wood Green full of Polaks etc, in my day was full of blacks was the spot for light skinned beauties.

The Market on kingsland road used to be called "the waste", is now art galleries and trendy hair dressers.

I remember my friend getting a gun pulled on him outside the fire station for apparently staring , hipsters don't realise how fukking ghetto dalston and hoxton were, hoxton was all methos and drug addicts.

The areas have changed for the better I suppose, but I kinda miss the old school danger (though a customer told me the other week he got robbed I kingsland rd for his iphone, I thought to myself "ain't changed that much then lol")

The yanks ive been around when I have been Vegas, Miami and LA have been cool and if anything always up for good banter.
