I was a phlebotomist before I became a nurse.

I got the phlebotomy job with no experience although my resume said I graduated in Biology (Marine but I didnt put that). I had zero medical experience. I ended up being the vein whisperer and decided to do nursing because I loved the medical field.

I worked at the top restaurant in the city I used to live in before corona came, lucked up through knowing some people. They decided not to re-open after Rona and most the chefs I worked with are there now the execs of very well known fine dining spots in the city on some generation of miracles shyt.

May not be some coli 6 figures, 6 certs, 6 lambos shyt but for what I do that was a very big deal and I'm happy I got to spend years there advancing and making better than average money
So you’re a cook? I don’t see how you got lucky

So you’re a cook? I don’t see how you got lucky
-The restaurant was incredibly well known in the area, working there was not an opportunity many people got
-Paid more much more than average in the area
-The clout I gained from working there had me getting all types of offers for salaried positions
-I learned more there than I could have anywhere else in the area
-Working there made me a made man in that city with all the connections I made, considering a lot of the people I worked with are in very high positions of power.

It's something you don't get often as a young chef, I was lucky

There was this one job that stood out and I was like :manny:

End up getting the job and the Director called me personally and wanted to negotiate salary. I was like :lupe: $50k

She was like :picard: $50k....naw we starting you at $80k with a bunch of crazy benefits

I remember I was on the bus when she called and was straight :gucci::gucci::krs::ohlawd::mjcry::mjcry:

I finessed my way into corporate finance by flat out lying on my resume :mjlol:I’m talking about huge lies. I’m worth 80-90k on the open market but I don’t ever see myself going back to corporate. I lasted bout 3-4 years.

But to say you need to lie just to get some decent shyt is an understatement. Lie, embellish, and deceive within reasonable limit, and to the level you feel comfortable at. I’m very comfortable lying in these folks face to try and get what I want, and I feel like I’m smarter than them, so I don’t respect none of that corporate shyt. Also, worse thing that can happen is you get found out in the interview process or on the job, but if you truly don’t give a fukk about that shyt possibly happening like me, what is the reason not to do it? These folks lied to get where they was at too. You create your own luck

All I have to say is, As a cat who did not finish his college degree, my ass should not be sitting in a 706sqft clean apartment overlooking the lake, 5 figures in the account, waking up 5 minutes before work and sometimes fapping during work hours.
:picard: bro that’s too small
And u say u got a family? How y’all doing it?

Yeah, I accidentally fell into UX research when I was finishing up my PhD. My girlfriend at the time said a friend of her’s does cool work with technology. I contacted her friend and got the job. I had never heard of user experience research before, not even a little bit. But I was used to doing research in school, so I was a good fit. Little did I know UX research would become a popular career that pays well
What is your typical day like being a UX Researcher? That's a career I'm looking to get into.

It was at a blood bank. I applied approx 4-5 years ago. Told them I was interested in pursuing medical field (juelzing through the interview) and that I was a fast learner. They put me with a trainer and I was good at it! Within a year I became a trainer for new hires. Best leap of faith I ever made. I saw it on indeed and I was like:stopitslime: they ain't go hire me, but whoa and behold:lawd: best application decision ever. It was the first job I truly loved. I would've stayed if they paid more which is why I went to be an RN, and they paid 50% of my tuition:lawd:

Before that job I was a Marine Biologist researcher which meant I had to go out on Crystal River to check and record the manatee population....so boring....but I liked the kayaking and not dealing with people, I miss that peacefulness on the water with Mary J.

I think it’s luck for me, even though I’m still advancing. Honestly I just apply for everything. It can say airline pilot and I still apply :mjlol: I tell my friends and family to do that. People always mention that I always have a good job. I leave one and have a new one by next week. And the honest answer is that I just apply to everything.

You never know who’s feeling nice and wants to give you a chance just because :yeshrug:

I work in the financial industry for a top 5 firm but I had no real financial experience before hand. My degree is poli sci but I spend my day talking financial traders through trades and product implementation. :comeon:shyt they went to school and are licensed for, which is a scary thought:patrice: I had a teller job before this one but I got fired because my cash box kept not balancing out EOD:pachaha:Of course I stretch the true on my resume and I spit massive game during the current jobs interview. Im a very quick learner and i used my free time in my company's internal training web campus to catch up with the Econ and Business majors around me. Sometimes managers come to me for answers :dwillhuh:

I can do it but I hate Math, money and rich ppl but my job consists of all 3. I literally help rich ppl get richer by telling them what and how to do it but I dont see a share of that money. I have a years salary saved and dont have to work multiple jobs for 16 hr a dsy anymore but it feels like i dont belong here.

...it feels like I'm over and underpaid too :unimpressed:
