They did this gen with making 2K Seventy Bucks for the PS5 and X/S releases
At this point it is what it is. This is the hobby you signed up for and you know how it works. Does anyone absolutely have to have a game day one? If you feel like you do there’s a premium to that. Around Black Friday a lot of these $80 games will be $50 or maybe less. Next year there will be a GOTY edition with all the DLC for $50 or something.
We all know this is an hype culture ran industry that’s screwing people over day one. Hell they’ll give you the game three days to a week early if you’ll pay more than $80. It’s just better to exercise delayed gratification if the price bothers you. The early adopters get jerked so the patient people get great deals.

I need games to be $10 or free on Gamepass day 1 and I need Gamepass to be free. I also want the latest, bleeding edge technology that never needs to be upgraded and it has to cost less than the last gen console. I need them to release very quickly and to have no delays and to not have any patches. I need everything at the snap of my digital finger.

Oh a way will be found, absolutely. 
Will know in a couple of weeks with the game preview shows and what not, but I think a huge industry crash/reset is coming.

That’s the crux of it. Gamers think every title or service should cost what they perceive it to be worth rather than what the market says it’s worth. It’s just entitlement, nothing new.
It's like when an upgraded hardware comes out 3 to 4 years after the launch of a console and then you have others mad at that as if the world stands still to never need upgrade. By their logic, everyone should've still been using horses and carriages to travel.
Borderlands may have gotten 80 at one point but hell nah lmao. That's a PS plus release for me

Yeah, I’m totally with you on that. I wait for games to go on sale most of the time myself. Got Star Wars Outlaws, Civ VII, etc on sale in the last couple weeks.
But you’ll never see me going onto YouTube live streams to spam “DROP THE PRICE”, lol
