AAA games are not sustainable at their current price point.

Reality is, prices “have to” go up in order for the games we enjoy to continue to exist
That's a problem with the business model not the price. It's funny Fortnite can sustain itself being free and selling optional content to players but AAA gaming has to cost $100 or it's an endangered species. The developers need to rethink what they're making if it's unsustainable.

Wtf you mean its not sustainable??? that'a fukking lie they keep telling YOU...:what: bottom line they have to make games WORTH playing...to justify the $70 price point. let the free market decide to buy it or not... :stopitslime:

You or me, or none of the people who enjoy AAA single player games want to play a game like fortnight.

GTA drop with a bunch of skins and “seasons” nikkas would riot. :manny:

It's GTA VI, nikkas would babble online about how they standing up and voting with their wallets, only to see them in the thread a hour later talking about they caved in and since they'll be playing for 100's of hours they made an exception. The launch hype for huge, AAA products is undefeated. Same with the "I'm not buying a Switch 2!" nikkas. Yes you are. You just saying that now :mjlol:

I don't believe anyone saying no besides winb who was asking if Baldur's Gate 3 was worth it over a year after release.

Games are a great value at their current price point and GTA6 at $100 would open the floodgates for other studios without the pedigree or the capacity to up their asking price. Studios that never sniffed AAA would start trying to sneak their releases across the line at $100. Another industry where we pay more and get less.

I heard the next Assassin Creed game had a bundle that was gonna be $200 from a store rep last week when I went in to buy Madden.

I’m sure someone would think that’s a steal to buy this for $100 and I’m sure if they charged $250 many would cop…. especially y’all Sony Stan’s cuz yall got money

The business model can’t just be drive up the cost of production and drive up the price for the end user. Price increases in perpetuity is never a sustainable business model. Eventually people will exit the market and explore other alternatives. People have been shifting to different games. Free to play games like Fortnite in part because of that sort of stuff. Customers don’t want $100 games.

They’d basically be embracing the model that killed Cable TV if they jumped to $100 games. A price accelerating death spiral.

Thats kind of how it should be, the games that try and “sneak“ to $100 would fail just like they are now at $70.

the biggest most expensive games on the planet deserve to charge 100 imo. I also think more games should be 50, 40, and 30 dollars. The market will let you know how much your game is worth just like they do with Ubisofts, when they drop the price to half off after a month.
