I know right, why care about wrestling ability when talking about wrestling, what are they, wrestlers? :heh:

Actually theyre sports entertainers..Stampede wrestling died nearly 3 decades ago. The WWF/E caters to personalities and angles..they cherry pick when they want to talk about in ring ability. Its usually brought up when a guy isnt good enough as an overall package.

If The Attitude Era Started After WM14, Then There's No Excuse Why Shawn Is That Much Higher Than Bret Right?

The attitude era began long before any of u are saying. They were showing signs of going another direction by 1996. 96 is the year they started getting crazier and wrestlemania 13 is the first attitude era wrestlemania.

Bret Hart Top 20 easily, Hennig or Savage for my personal Top Spot.

EDIT

Bret got the goat in-ring attire, tho.

Not necessarily, he'll always be up there for being a co-founder of DX. It's not like there is anyone behind him who should have the 6th spot, and he was still present post-WM14 even when he wasn't wrestling |(Commissioner/Corporation/etc.)

Most guys are on that list for just being there during the Attitude Era, not necessarily their impact. If Taker didn't have his HIAC matches, ain't no way he'd be 7, guaranteed. Surprised Bret was even 16 given the fact he was gone before the real boom, but it's fair to say he unofficially started it with his Anti-US run.

What was the point of this thread anyway? It's not like there are ever any overwhelming amount of Hitman appreciation threads to begin with on here.

Bret is ahead of Taker, Rude, Steamboat, Dynamite, Jericho, HHH, Sting and Jake.

I think the clear top 4 are Austin, Rock, Hogan and Flair but that 5th spot is a toss up between Bret, Macho, HBK and Bruno. Regardless of who you think is actually 5th, you can't deny Bret being in the top ten

Yeah...sounds about right.

But make no mistake about it.....the fans LOVE him more than anyone from the Kliq. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. His name being brought up in a certain context leads to heat for Michaels every single time.

as a huge bret stan, he def isnt top 5, but I think he gets that love cause of what happened at ss 97(involving the bolded), and because of the tragic death of Owen, as well as the respect of his technical skills.

I have him ranked somewhere around 7th all time....but top ten aint a bad place to be. he had to carry the company on his back wrestling in ppv main events against guys like issac yankem and that jap dude with the tats....

Didn't read this thread.

But Bret is Top 10. He has too many classic matches and feuds to be overlooked. Anyone who doesn't consider him an all time great is just being a contrarian.

If you put the letter S in front of "Hitman", you've had my exact opinion of Bret Hart! - Austin in 96 :smugdraper:

This thread is kinda pointless nobody ever says bret is top 5 all-time. He is top 10 near the bottom, one of his negatives is he was terrible in wcw

I agree with this post for the most part, but I think the bolded are a tossup for 4th and 5th.
