Its amazing how cats build up the courage to say the most out of pocket things. :snoop: Everything about Hart felt real and unscripted. When he did promos it was like listening to a guy you knew down the street get pissed off and just rant on somebody. Not to mention he always put on a match worth watching.

It's easy to say that now in retrospect but cats weren't feeling him like that in 1997 and 1998. They were definitely pro Austin and NwO at that juncture. When you got older and looked at the body of work and how things turned out, then you found ways to appreciate that stuff later. Like a Jake the Snake. When were kids, there was so much good stuff, great characters, legendary feuds/debuts..things of that nature that one would take Jake Roberts' genius for granted. That guy had some very intelligent promos that made Arn Anderson's best work look second rate.

Who are these cats that weren't feeling him? This is the dumbest shyt ever. Like he wasn't all over the place when he was feuding with Austin at that time? Who the fukk was like damn I am not feeling Bret Hart he should not be fueding with Austin and Michaels right now, I am definitely feeling the Sultan or Rocky Maivia or some other slapnut like that at the time?

Get the fukk outta here, he was still moving merch at a high clip, he was a HUGE attraction at that time. Jesus Christ he was the WWF champion after that and his feuds were the biggest thing going in 97 before he left.

Terrible. Again, just because you do not like someone does not mean "cats weren't feeling him" What kind of fagat says "cats" anyway? lol, you are such an oreo.

Why is it that we never can hold conversations without somebody catching feelings? :snoop:

Because this thread shouldn't even have been started by you to begin with, since I have never read anyone in TSC say that Bret Hart is Top 5 as a complete Superstar.

TSC had a discussion on twitter about this yesterday.

He's in my personal top 5 of all-time, along with Rock,Austin, Savage and Sting, but i can easily see why someone would have a Angle, Taker, Flair or Steamboat ahead of him on their lists, but he's most DEFINITELY top 10 without question.

:what: :whoa: He was over HUGE after his heel turn in 97', and was second only to Steve Austin in the entire WWF in terms of crowd reactions, but yea by 98' when he got to WCW he was :flabbynsick: and an afterthought, which wasn't really his fault.

Bret saw his talent before anyone else did:

Remember he was now "retired" as he just lost the belt to Shawn. He still did these matches on the World Tour to help StoneGOAT along. They then built the storyline for his return at SS96.

The Harts stay developing talent, even when it's not their own blood :obama: I miss when Austin use to sell like this. shyt was comical.
