Beanie is better than Biggie to me.

Sig is in my top 10. He just wasn't as polished, wasn't as witty, and Big had a better flow. But Big doesn't run away in a landslide in all those categories eitherm

You add or take away Puff and they are damn near the same artist. I can see Beanie making "Things Done Changed" or "Long Kiss Goodnight", I can see Biggie doing "Pacman" or "Bread and butter"...shyt they had songs which were already along the same lines.

At times I like the rawness of Sig and I like the humor and cohesive tracks Big's had. Sigels downfall was he was too much of a street nikka. The three artists that always brought the best out of Jay Z are, Big, Kanye, and Beanie Sigel...I don't think anyone can dispute that.

I would argue "The Becoming" is classic. Just half the album had been out 18 months before it actually dropped.

Nice album. But not a timeless classic or a super super phenomenal album. Rappers need range, and I dont think beanie has that much artisit range tbh.

For example when beanie was first coming up, Jay Z said that oen day beanie would be remebered and regarded as high as biggie and pac (someehere along thsoe liens). A couple years later and its not even close to being true. He's nice for raw spitting and street songs nshyt, but what more does he ahve to offer that would put him above biggie. The way I see it is this:

Technical lyrical ability: Biggie
Flow: Biggie
Storytelling: Biggie
Delivery: IDK maybe a close tie
Socially Conscious/content: Biggie (more versatile)
Quotables/punchlines: IDK tie unless someone can make an arguemnt
Ability to Battle/battle bars: IDK, I'll give it to beanie but its a close call
Originality: IDK neither are all that original. Biggie is a best call tho.

I'm a beans stan but no it's not even close, beans was better at putting together more raw emotion in his music, biggie was much more versatile as a lyricist and was able to cross over and make radio friendly songs unlike beans, and we won't even get to story telling, big is in a league of his own when it comes to that.

I'm as big a fan of Beans as any on here but Beans was never the complete MC Big was. Beans was more believable in regards to grimey street sh!t but he was never as polished in any other area. Beans a Biggie stan. He would tell you he ain't better than Biggie.

I agree Beans cant do the commercial shyt thats a good argument against him,but like i said Biggie cant do the poetic shyt like Beans can,he cant give you a Nothing Like It,or a verse like Beans gave us on What We Do...also Biggie cant give you songs with pure emotion and substance like Feel it In the Air,Still Got Love For You,moms praying the list goes on.

What Ya Life Like is up there with any of those,your my impressed by I Got A Story To Tell than that?i was playin that shyt one day and my homie who did some years was listenin and just zoned out,song ended and he wanted me to play it back and he zoned out again like he was relivin his time.

I give yall the fact biggie could go back n forth from the raw to commercial shyt making him versatile...but for some reason yall not giving beans the same credit for being able to go from raw shyt,to making emotional heartfelt shyt,poetic shyt,deep shyt.
