The Bears dropped the ball. Should’ve traded the first pick and got more offensive weapons to surround Fields with. If it didn’t work out with the new offensive pieces then trade Fields. But, at least they would have more assets to bring in a new QB with.

You’re not looking at it from the GM pov. Drafting Caleb gives him job security for the next 3 years.

You mean to tell me the Falcons would rather pay Kirk Cousins 180 million dollars over trading a six round pick for Justin fields?

:dwillhuh: Fields is only a 6th rounder because teams like the Falcons declined and ruined the market for him. Ain’t no way the Bears were giving him to us for a 6th

Also, if he only went for a 6th then that shows what his value was to the rest of the league as well. Plenty of other teams went with other options than Fields for a 6th.

you think George Pickens was saving Justin Fields career in Chicago??? :dahell:
Saving them from getting the #1 pick that basically ended his time there (with the Panthers getting the #1 pick) the following year)

Are you forgetting how trash that 2022 wr core was?

You were saying a couple days ago if they werent in position to get Caleb he'd be returning :mjlol:

I might be a Steelers fan wow man lmaoooo whole life it’s been my mama and family team lmaoooo I ain’t really liked em since Kordell couldn’t get a ring IIRC.

Might be rooting for them. They tried to write off Tomlin, Russ and Fields last year.
I Love redemption and payback.

These people dont watch bears games. Hell I dont think Bears fan do. I was behind letting him cook last year but after the browns/packers games it was obvious he was who he was. Cant do shyt against good defenses at all.

And he is anti clutch. I want anyone who is crying in here over him to go look at his 4q stats.
I really think some Bears fans are just accustomed to watching bad QB play. Breh was awful out there. I don't want a running back at QB, I want a QB and Fields was bad at Qbing

I stand by what I said. What kind of offers did Lamar get? Exactly. These kinds of QBs are not valued. Coaches are incapable of developing them and have little patience. It is what it is.

Josh Dobbs? Nikka get the fuk outta here.

The Bears have 0 experience with developing a QB. Name one
Justin fields was the best qb the bears ever drafted

I wonder how the playtime caveat in draft picks will effect how they use Fields :jbhmm:

But I do think this is a good trade. Have Fields learn from two great football minds as he potentially preps to take the reigns next year.
That pick doesn't turn into a 4th unless Fields plays the majority (51%) of the snaps. Highly doubt that happens unless Russ is really bad or gets hurt.

Darnold couldn't even look decent with Shanahan. That's an indictment.

To me this is an indictment on NFL coaching. When I look at the way Fields has regressed from OSU to now, I can't just chalk it up to NFL defenses being harder. He can't read the field at all. He struggles with basic throws. To me this looks like a guy who hasn't had a decent QB coach and has cycled through OCs who can't help him get into rhythm. This disconnect can't solely be on Fields IMO.

He looked flawed at OSU too. He also has too elongated of an delivery. That's a bad combo for someone who is too often late with his throws. Good thing his arm is very strong.

Not even caping, just same ole, same ole from teams. Complete waste and mismanagement of talent. Meanwhile Trevor Lawrence firmly entrenched in his role despite playing like shyt.

I think Lawrence is overrated a tad but he's miles better than Fields (who sucks) and has already hit 4k yards passing twice which no Bears QB has ever done :dead:
Lawrence issue is people tried to prop him up into top 5 QB convos when he's closer to Kirk Cousins/Jared Goff solid/good starter tier.
Fields is ass if you want someone who can actually throw a football on time and accurately
There's no comparison at all
Yeah. Lawrence is way better than Fields. There's no question. If the Bears could have traded Fields for Lawrence straight up, they would have.

It's the same Steelers front office that kept Mason Rudolph employed for 5 seasons even though everyone here knew what he was. They extended Trubisky career by several years for no reason too. They've always been exceptionally patient with their younger QB choices. They're not bringing Fields onboard to kick him out after a season as a backup.

I doubt they pick up the option, but he won't have tape to go anywhere else as a starter unless Russ gets hurt and there's no way they'll have a top pick next draft for a QB.
Folks trippin talking about he walking after next season. Steelers ain’t paying shyt for Wilson this season and possibly next season if he was to return because Denver is footing the cost. They didn’t go do this trade “just in case Wilson is trash” they did this shyt because they know that beyond two (maybe three years max) Wilson is gone and they will have Fields who has spent that time learning from Wilson and then hopefully he can move into that spot and be the franchise QB moving forward.

Next year they resign Wilson on another veteran minimum contract, Give Fields 30-40 million for three seasons (just throwing a number off my head) and then if he breaks through and shows out they give him that massive contract. People are forgetting that Wilson ain’t getting no bread from the Steelers so the QB cap hit ain’t shyt. Money saved this year was used in other places, next year they use it on Fields. fukking Omar Khan been showing his ass the little time that he has been the GM here

Get this outdated shyt outta here man. Fields is being replaced by a black QB, and going to compete with a black QB. He was succeeded at his Alma mater by a black QB. Who went 2nd in the draft only to another black QB. The 2nd pick in THIS years draft is black. The top QB in next years draft is black

Josh Dobbs got his shot
DTR got his shot, only to benched by….another black QB. And they were only playing bc the starter was hurt, another black QB

Like bruh Vince Evans and Andre Ware didnt endure just so you nggas can stay on the same crybaby outdated ‘bbbut black qb :damn:‘ tropes. Them days is over we run this shyt. ENOUGH. We do not need to cape for Justin fields just bc he black

He. Is. Ass.
@JLova after all these years is still horrible

He's ass
