Ok, I’ll differ to you :hubie:. I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s outta there with Flus if the season goes downhill tho. Personally, I feel like he tied his faith with Eberflus when he didn’t fire him last year tho. If this coaching staff is canned and Caleb has to learn a new system next year, it’s on Poles imo.

there have been some misses and not fortifying the OL is concerning, but overall hes done a good job and our Ownership/CEO group love & trust him. he will 100% be given the space to hire the next coach and see Calebs development out. If the season goes to shyt, Flus and the staff will take the fall

and Caleb is already progressing in his first 3 games -- there was a lot of good stuff on tape yesterday, I think its a bit premature before any panic sets in

Ryan Poles is not on the hot seat whatsoever this season, his job is safe. Flus is a different story
Ryan Poles is 100% safe, yes
Poles appears to have job security, but keeping Flus instead of clearing house is damning all things considered.
His last 2 OCs have been Getsy and Waldron who have been/or currently are terrorists for this offense.

Claypool trade
Oline being bad to this degree 2 years straight
VJJ pick and keeping him on the roster
Swift looking like a bad signing

So his job is safe, but one could really say, he's done poorly with the offensive side of the ball. I'm sure some would say, passing on Stroud is potentially another strike, but I get he wanted to give JF1 more time.

I think Poles has gotten a lot of positive press and props for being decisive with flipping the roster over, but there's still a lot to be done. Hell, this time last year, Chicago was looked at as the laughing stock of the NFL and terrible. His evaluation of offense to me looks a bit suspect right now.

yeah it would be on poles but as long as he does everything in his power to build the OLine this offseason hes fine.

His biggest miss so far is def retaining flus though, it made little sense at the time. he could finish the season 9-8 or some shyt I'll still say he should be canned.
Imo, I thought the best case scenario for the bears was to hire Harbaugh, would bring Greg Roman. Trade down from the 1st to get another haul. Draft Alt and maybe another lineman high or another offensive weapon and go crazy. Greg Roman would have fields in MVP talks. I legitimately believe that. That man is a run game genius. Second best case was still bringing in Harbaugh but drafting Caleb. Retaining Flus was the worst thing poles could’ve done. Fresh start buys him 3 years and sets Caleb up for success. Having Caleb behind a shyt O Line and a lame duck coach is bad vibes

I didnt say hes without fault, I just can safely say hes not on the hot seat and wont be losing his job this season / offseason

it wouldnt even be so bad if they aced the OC hire, but it appears Waldron aint the guy - I dont want to overreact 3 games in about anything, but the overall offensive operation/scheme/playcalling has been so bad, its hard to be patient there, its been downright head scratching at times

So here we have a dude who has to just move the chains and eat up clock. in his 4th year mind you. with the best defense in the league and a hall of fame coach . being compared to a rookie in his 3rd game who has to throw the ball 50 times because the run game is non existent with a coach who does not know what is going on half the time.

Why are these comparisons being made beyond just being fascinated with Justin Fields. They are not being asked to do the same things, are 4 years apart, and one has mike tomlin the other flus. How hard is it just to appreciate the high level game managing Justin is doing :mjlol:

ALL CALEB HAS TO DO
IS TAKE CARE OF THE BALL
AND MOVE THE CHAINS.

BEARS WOULD BE 3-0
IF HE DID

Hes a rookie qb. they are going to do some dumb shyt. especially when the coaches are idiots and there is no run game so you have to throw in a million times.

He definitely needs to figure out what he can and cant do. so picks will be made that hopefully wont happen constantly.

Im happy for Justin, I dont know why people are acting like Bears fans didnt acknowledge he was put into a bad situation here. We were his biggest cheerleaders, so this isnt some "gotcha" moment. He had a lame duck coach / GM year one and then had to lead a roster being torn down and rebuilt.

I think Caleb is gonna be great in Chicago, Im feeling good about what he put out in his 3rd start, esp with no running game and a shaky OL (and bad playcalling). If Justin can take some steps as a passer, PITT is gonna be really happy to have him. Hes also a good person whos respected by his teammates.
SOME Bears fans were riding with him. It seemed like a 50/50 split from what I seen of fans saying how horrible Fields is and that if they had a real problem it would magically solve everything.

I dont know, I happen to think Caleb will be the better QB and wanted them to draft him -- it didnt mean I thought Fields was trash. Justin had some very unfortunate timing in Chicago, his rookie year was under a lame duck regime that didnt prioritize his development, then he was tasked to lead a roster being rebuilt. Overall, Justin was pretty well liked here, fans chanted his name during his last start in Chicago. He just ran out of time here

I honestly don't know what point they have been trying to make. Justin was never the biggest issue with that team, and the steelers are an actually well run org. this shouldn't be too surprising. Youre proving Flus/OC is garbage bigging up JF more than anything which I agree with.

Well, that might be b/c you actually appreciate nuance and have a level headed approach at viewing your team, but let's be real and talk brass tacks breh...

The majority of your fans & then USC/Caleb fans by proxy, were acting like Justin was holding the team byke and that Caleb was gonna slide right in and set the world on fire with all of these shiny new toys at the skill position and be winning games out the gate on some CJ Stroud shyt.

And now we see, that was a load of bullshyt but we had to hear about it the entire off-season so niccas (not you neccessarily) gotta drink their medicine :yeshrug:

A sixth round pick is a throwaway pick for the most part. He's got a rocket arm and elite athleticism. If he can learn how to read defenses quicker and make quicker decisions, this could be an insane steal.

If he doesn't develop this year, they can cut him and they only lose a 6th round pick. Good trade.

Saw him yesterday for the first time this year and he was money in the 4th even as the Chargers were blitzing him. Read the defense quickly and found the holes in the defense. Completely looked different from when he was with the Bears. Looks like a steal for the Steelers so far.

I never thought he was gonna come in and be a world ender day one. even Stroud was like 3-4 before the team went on a run.

I like what I see from him and from Justin. I'm a fan of both :manny:

steelers are allowing 8 ppg. every qb in the NFL bar baby body, Shin Levis, and AR would be 3-0 with that.

Hes definitely doing whats hes being asked of though. I'm curious to see if he can play from behind but he may not even need to do that if the D remains this stout.
Not with the turnovers they've committed. Ironically, AR was able to beat the Bears despite his turnovers and Levis would've beaten the Bears had he not committed one of the most boneheaded turnovers ever.

Harbaugh + Fields (current play) + Alt + High-pick WR?

That team would be RUNNING through the NFC for years. Just felt like a much easier way to fix the franchise, as 'generational QB' picks are still quite risky.
