Thank you so much. I’m going to learn my DAWs more (Reason and FL 20) and get to creating. If you brehs have any advice, videos to recommend, any resources even if I have to make a purchase. Gladly accept them. Hip Hop and R&B are my focus.
Feeling Isaiah Rashad and SiR the most at the moment. I want to be as versatile as possible.
Busyworkbeats on youtube is GREAT for FL STUDIO.

He goes into the sonics of music and really can improve your knowledge and workflow of FL STUDIO.

For instance he will go into not having frequencies clash..
(For instance your kick drum not clashing with your bass or 808).

I’m sure he has knowledge but after I watched his Neptunes video years ago I’m like something wrong with breh. That sound selection was so trash to use as an example. Just another youtuber...

New Yawk where I’m from / Bahston where I’m at
On and off as a teen. Recently got FL 20 but more for basic shyt and Reason via Reason + for sound design since sonically FL stock plug ins are booty. I got Studio One for mixing and mastering. I wish Logic Pro X was for Windows they got good instrument stock plug ins.

mixing and especially mastering is a whole other discipline. Should be able to mix your stems in a basic way with EQ cuts / boosts, panning, and maybe some reverb, but don’t go crazy with compression or gating unless you really know what you’re doing.

I started on FL switch to Ableton then got a Sp202/Sp404/Sampletrak/now all I use is Koala Sampler on my phone/iPad and the PO33 to create. I'm more creative with less limitations. All the prices for hardware has gone through the roof. My Sp202 was $70 now it's selling for $400. Don't sleep on your phone/iPad for music production. You'll be surprised what you can do.

Understand I’m trying to recreate a Timbaland beat by ear. I’m doing something way hard for a novice.

In person would be dope, I asked a friend if he could try to remake it on his free time. We’re not that close so we’ll see. What do you mean by breakdowns?
In your original post the YouTube video at 12 seconds When he does the extra stuff on drums

It sounds complicated because we are trying to explain things in writing. Imagine explain to someone how to drive a car with just words. The person will think it's the most complicated thing ever. But once you do it, the basics are easy. Then it depends how far you want to take it. Driving a race car on a high level would still be hard...
