If you teach your child how to do right from the jump, you wouldnt have to beat them period.
Beating a child is not gone do no better than teaching them why they shouldnt do something.

Whippings instill discipline and a respect for authority within you.

You are SO WRONG . I hardly ever got whipped and I turned out good. Plus, I think I got whipped 7 times my whole lifetime by my parents. That whipping shyt doesn't work . ain't nothing wrong with disciplining your child if you don't take it to the extreme, I got my ass beat and it helped me out in the long run, my friends didn't get beatings and 85% of them are doing max b numbers.

It's subjective, one kid may turn out better from whippings and some turn out worse. Not every kid responds the same way. Some kids do need it, but for others it can cause them to screw up even more because of anger, fear or hopelessness. I know I wouldn't be happy or thankful about being whipped as a kid no matter how life turned out.

While I was walking from the library of the college I go to. This Black/Hispanic girl was threatening her son. She said, "you better behave before I take you to the bathroom and beat your ass" . After I heard her say that out loud I said to myself wow she's a conformist . We got the beating our kids mentality from our oppressor. Especially, when us as slaves were beat with the whip and crack whip. That's how the term cracker which I do NOT use originated. I'm saying we as Black folk need to upgrade and modify our technique when disciplining our children. Because that right there is still what's keeping us as a slave mentally. Also, I would NEVER beat my kids. However, I would take away their positions like my parents did me and ground them

100% truth but you will be hard pressed to find many on this site who support your position. Its sad that we use violence instead of words to attempt to raise our children. Many black children hear only (or mosty) harsh words instead of loving, nurturing words and feel hard slaps and smacks instead of hugs and kisses.
