Nipsey Hussle
-Crenshaw

Not a fan of Lupe, why is that? :lupe:

Thanks homie.

Of all the people in TDE, Schoolboy Q is the best rapper and it's not even close imo. I kinda dig him, but it's weird - he's never made a track that's made me flip. He's made a number of tracks that I think "huh... this is kinda nice but something's missing".

For one, he did well on that Brand New Guy joint. He also has this one track called "BetIGotSomeWeed" that is nice (that's still the best shyt I've heard from him). I think Man of the Year and Studio are some of the better songs of last year. I'm much more into hardcore hip hop so I'll gravitate to Q over Kendrick any day. It's just a lot of times Q picks wack beats and his delivery isn't smooth enough. But I'll check out that shyt.

In all honesty, I know Lupe's your boy and that's cool. I've never liked Lu. In the words of DMX, I hate his voice, his beats, his haircut...

There is only one track by Lupe I like: "Superstar" remix. He's never rhymed like that on a beat that good, before or since.

this isn't disco and it isn't spoken word poetry either. hiphop requires an emcee to say something compelling (whether it compels you to dance, think, cry etc) over a funky ass beat. these questions are redundant, in my honest opinion. it's like asking whether you prefer the wheels or the engine of the car; without either, you don't have a car

this is a great example of a perfect hip hop record imo:

People missing a key element

Flow >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I rather hear Rakim rapping an accapella than Lil Jon rapping on Dr Dre's Chronic beats

Beats and flow (vocal delivery/charisma) amount for 90% of what makes a great rap record
^^^ Why i dont listen to kendrick

Well damn lol. I like Lupe cause of his emphasis on lyricism, has a great flow, and a pretty good beat selector

But yeah I agree SchoolBoy is ten times better than Kendrick. Kendrick sound way to emo, and his flow is all over the place. He really thinks huffing and puffing on a record means "You went hard on the track" :dead:. SchoolBoy got the charisma and hardcore drums that I like

This song is on that "Habits and Contradictions" album

Beat has to be dope, I'm not hearing shyt if the beat is trash, I can tolerate the absolute WOOORSSST lyrics if the Beat and at least melody is on point, case in point

Even if the nikka rapping some lyrical masterpiece type shyt, if the beat aint there, I'm not fukking with it, not that I can't enjoy a nice acapella because I can but if the beat is just whack, it's not worth listening too.
