I'm not an old head but the way y'all talk about older black ppl is ridiculous... you're basically calling them imbeciles who just walk into a polling station :mjtf: that's how you really feel about black ppl when it comes to politics, huh? Just brainless imbeciles checking boxes just to be checking them?

:unimpressed:

:mjpls:
The only thing I can think of for why folks support biden, white or black, is that they just think he is the only one who can best Trump for some reason.

Because, the guy has terrible policies and track record.

Majority of the black votes were from older blacks.

yeah I know. It’s just ppl try to push Bernie firmly beat Biden with youn black voters. That’s not the case.

Bernie got 38% of young black voters. Biden got 36%. Nowhere close to firmly beating Biden on young black voters.

biden has as much support from young black voters that Bernie has.

Bernie seems to have the opposite problem of Hillary in the general. Seems Bernie all this time made no effort to go south and mingle with black people.

Just like Hillary failed in the midwest with white "working class" voters Bernie has heavily neglected older black working class voters in the south.

Or maybe they simply see that Bernie’s policies are whimsical, unfundable, and have zero chance of being passed into law?
About that criticism Bernie said "would you rather ask for a whole loaf of bread and get half or ask for half and get a slice"
For things to change you need someone willing to start it. People have got use to politicians intentionally keeping things stagnant to appease their donors and keep their money and positions so much so when think this is how it is suppose to be.

The difference being is that the ones voting Bernie might not show come election time if he isn't nominated. Most, if not all, Biden voters are on that "vote blue no matter who" with the main focus on beating Trump.

Bernie has everybody wins policies and a terrible track record of achievements. A lot of people are of the "if it sounds too good to be true" mindset, as it's born out, time and again in history.
Don't forget, a lot of our current elder relatives lived during the time when for many black Americans, socialism was a rallying cry.
Martin, Malcolm, BP Party, etc.
They saw what white america did to these rally points, and even tho the warfare has gone covert, they believe the guns are still loaded and the fingers still itch.
Asking people to vote against historical patterns is always going to be a hard sell.
And Bernie kept more than he sold.

youth turnout is down. This fantasy y’all have about Bernie getting the youth vote out isn’t happening.

he’s done the exact opposite. He’s not getting any new voters yet alone youth voters to come out for him at all.

that strategy needs to be dreaded. He’s not getting a great majority of black youth votes and he’s not getting more youth voters to come out and vote for him. Y’all need to deal with that reality and switch it up, that ship has sailed; it ain’t happening.
