There's some history here. In 1975, when he was a 32-year-old U.S. senator, Biden opposed busing, then an extremely hot-button issue in the battle to desegregate schools. He also seemed to broadly reject the idea of reparations. "I do not buy the concept, popular in the '60s, which said, 'We have suppressed the black man for 300 years and the white man is now far ahead in the race for everything our society offers. In order to even the score, we must now give the black man a head start, or even hold the white man back, to even the race. I don't buy that," Biden told a Delaware newspaper that year, in comments recently unearthed by the Washington Post. He added, "I don't feel responsible for the sins of my father and grandfather. I feel responsible for what the situation is today, for the sins of my own generation. And I'll be damned if I feel responsible to pay for what happened 300 years ago."

Stop making something out of nothing. Many of us have just come to the realization that our parents and grand parents have been duped for decades by neoliberal democrats. I love the elderly members of my family. That doesn't prevent me from harshly critiquing their political positions though. If you're an older black voter and you voted for Biden simply because of his name, I've got to call you out.

Elderly Blacks are tired of hearing this "Benefit Minority" bullshyt that have help every minority but Black people throughout the decades.

Elderly Black people are not trying to hear about immigration policy that will overwhelmingly benefit Mexicans and will negative effect Black people economically.

Elderly Black people see these same immigrant groups share the same White Supremacist views towards Black people.

And would practice the same racism once they will get on Top.

It's a real reason the votes were heavily split among Blacks ad Mexicans in Texas.

My aunt teaches history and she just voted for Biden. A lot of those older black folks know that Bernie’s plans are unrealistic and they aren’t interested in the taxes.

It isn't unrealistic just expensive but its not like we don't give massive tax breaks to billion dollar corporations, the wealthy, and spends tons on military.

1.If you want, I can point out the lies that were debunked, and how they kept popping back up over and over. The fact that these were easily refuted notions lead me to believe that yters were exploiting young and naive followers. Or people who wanted to believe these things to justify their feeling about Black immigrants.

You keep basing this off youtubers. For you and people like you-this all has to be based on a youtubers so you could have something to attack. Ados on the ground are waking up to these things and experiencing things for themselves. Most were working on the former system on afram pan-africanism where much of the enthusiasm came from unearned admiration for groups that didnt feel the same way.
2. The willingness and eagerness to believe and repeat things that weren't true is where it went from looking out for self interests to something else. Fearmongering and manipulation. The threads are still up. If people were too swept up in emotion to see it then, surely they can see it now.

Look through some of the regional war threads and see how many of those members buy into stereotypes about their fellow AAs who live in different parts of the country. Read the recent threads after the SC primary and see the rehashing of the same old stereotypes about the South.

Again, by now I'm sure you know who is who. Go back and read those posts, and come back here and tell me about how Black immigrants should know better.

You're in the BX, right? All the church goers are in service right now. Let's say I stood on the four corners of your block, right now and only stopped AAs under 30. I asked them general questions about AA history/struggle/rights. Your life was on the line and based on how much they knew about their own history. On a scale of 1-10.......10 being the highest, how confident would you be that you would survive? This is YOUR block.
I want to hear your answer to this.
1.why do they have to be under 30? When immigrants over 30 make up a good portion of the ignorance, who than may have instilled that ignorance into their children
2. my answer is(considering my neighborhood is predominately afram) That they would know enough to take it to trial. What does that have to do with blacks from foreign countries being completely baseless in their station on why they are here as it pertains to the history of America and the role ados has played in it

The point is that the same white controlled propaganda machine that programs people here exists when American culture is exported overseas. I halfway cringe when people brag and flag wave about singing and dancing, because I know that's the main lens that the media gatekeepers love to show Black people in globally.

Poor white people vote against their own interest all the time due to ignorance. Plus Bernie did a bad job in Black outreach. Even if I disagree with older Black voters, I am not necessarily going to call them immature and low information voters, and this is coming from Bernie supporters and Biden haters (not the same). MOST AMERICANS ARE LOW INFORMATION VOTERS ON BOTH SIDES.

Fact of the matter is for all of Biden's flaws, he is a known quantity moreso than Bernie who moved as an Independent of a small (wealthy) New England state. On top of that Bernie had made the same mistake now twice in a row, and has not really introduced himself to Black voters and marketed himself as someone who at least listens to their concerns and is aware and looking to help alleviate the plight of African Americans.

Like it or now whether you love or hate Obama, the man's aura is like holy water still in the Democratic party, moreso after 3 or so years of Trump. Biden was the closest to that and many feel he will at least stabilize Trumps insanity. Older Black voters just like older white democratic voters are trying to stop the bleeding, Bernie is more like an experimental surgery that may work marvelously but has higher risk.

I spoke to several people who canvassed for Bernie and asked them about Biden supporters. The majority of the Biden's supporters they spoke to had no reason other than name recognition behind their support for him.
