Yo to all my bruhz who have visited Spain, Barcelona specifically...I need your insight.

There's a very high chance I'm going to move out there for a year and teach English starting this September. I'm going to take a year hiatus from college and do something that I actually want to do. The program is pretty sweet, get to live with a host fam (don't have 2 pay rent) and they provide 2 meals a day (don't have to buy a lot of food), get 200 euros a month for working in school with kids on their English, and have a lot of free time to have another job + private English tutoring lessons. I should make a decent amount of $$ out there and have the time of my life. I'm basically fluent in Spanish...so the language struggle won't be that bad for me. There's a few things I'm worried about though.

How do the locals react to black Americans? I don't look like the typical broke African who lives there at all (brown skinned, skinny nose, kinda caucasian features, pretty boi), and dress pretty well (get hella compliments on my gear from everyone when I go out), will they be on some shyt when they see me or if I try to talk to ppl casually like I do here in the USA? Speaking of which, how's the game out in Spain for young african-american brothers? Are the young chicks out there down 4 the brown? Or are they like conservative southern white girls...embarrassed to hook up with a nikka? Will I be 'exotic' out there?

Also, how was the local food out there? Any problems with crime?

Basically just gimme a detailed insight to how life is going to be out there for a black American man. Will dap and rep any insightful advice. Appreciate it.

Very beautiful city. Weather is almost perfect everyday, food is excellent, nightlife will have you struggling to keep up, a lot of pros about this spot...

BUT!

Spanish and Catalonian people are not used to seeing American brothers around their city like that. They're used to Africans selling them shyt they don't want by the beach, but they aren't used to Black people from America just vacationing in their city. There isn't is racism (that exists), and I'd just describe it as a complete lack of awareness about African American anything and people.

We need to get more brothers out here for real.

Theres a lot here and I'm by no means an expert, but here goes...

Locals will react to you with interest and you will certainly be exotic in Barcelona. Expect a complete minority experience. You speak Spanish though, so you should be much better than me with how you navigate the zone.

Young chicks are mostly down 4 the brown, it depends on the chick really. Girls here are down 2 F much quicker than girls in the States tho...

Local food is great, you have a ton of options and some lots of good food on the cheap.

Crime is fairly low, the big things to watch out for are pickpockets, google 'barcelona pickpockets' and you'll see what I mean. No one here is shooting or any of that, the most you'd have to worry about is getting knifed up and if that happens, then you were fukking up somehow

Also, I should mention, the city was a ancient roman city then basically became modern in the past 50 years. The layout of the streets will confuse you and you'll learn to enjoy getting lost because you'll stumble across all types of dope shyt in these streets

Life here is going to be a giant adventure. I feel like Spain has a lot to offer and its a good place to just explore this side of the world. The economy isn't that great (the country basically has a structural unemployment) and if you have the opportunity to live here for a year with a monthly stipend, I'd probably do it. 200 euros a month isn't bad! Barcelona is the most turnt up city I've ever seen on the weekends. Just don't party too hard

I was describing myself in comparison to what the normal Africans I've seen there look like in order to get a better idea of how I'll be treated. It's not 'c00nin' to point out that those nikkas look bummy as shyt. It doesn't mean I'm gonna shyt on em when I see em, they're my people...it's nothing but love, but that doesn't make em exempt from criticism. I'm east african, european, jewish, and Native American...but I'm still black and proud. Quit trying play c00n police n get a life my G.

Loved barca when I visited back in Nov. people aren't used to seeing black folks who aren't selling Bootleg shyt or playing professional bball/soccer, but the people you do run into who are curious about you usually always leads to a good time...

Barca was lit. La Ramba on the beach, mad clubs till like 4am, good music, beautiful women. Went to a game at camp nou, dope city, paellla and sangria

Barca is my favourite place in Europe. You can everything there, Jetski, smoke weed, Club, go to the Beach.

Only Black people you seeing are the street vendors though.
