First of Happy Holidays Coli Fam! Sending Blessings out your way for a Merry Christmas

Last year around this time I made a thread asking what inspired the Christians of the coli to follow the faith I myself around the time was trying to be more involved in the church and following the teachings of the Bible to the 100% but it felt kind of forced to me like I was lying to myself so then I started looking into the actual history surrounding the Bible to strengthen my faith after watching this sermon

Basically stating the Bible has been translated in different languages for 1000’s of years with little difference from those early text to now dating traceable historical events so after that I started looking into the history of it and brehs...

It ain’t adding up :mjcry:

Forget about the things you can say the Bible plagiarized like the Book of Gilgamesh and the similarities to Greek mythology Sampson/ Hercules, Pandora’s Box/ Garden of Eden. What really throwed me was the fact there is no concerte evidence of Jews ever being in Egypt during the time of Ramases the 2nd not a single mention of them before during and any mention of them came much later during the time of Greek occupation which harms a lot of the validity of the Old Testament then coming to the New Testament we get the story of Jesus recanted by the stories of the apostles and outside of biblical sources confirmed mainly by this guy
Titus Flavius Josephus a Jewish-Roman historian

Who is considered to have had the one of the earliest historical accounts of jesus
Josephus on Jesus - Wikipedia

The only problem with that is in his autobiography of his military campaigns which actually predates the New Testament he tells a story eerily similar to the story of Jesus’ cruxifiction

When I also went once to the temple, by the permission of Titus, where there were a great multitude of captive women and children, I got all those that I remembered as among my own friends and acquaintances to be set free, being in number about one hundred and ninety; and so I delivered them without their paying any price of redemption, and restored them to their former fortune. And when I was sent by Titus Caesar with Cerealins, and a thousand horsemen, to a certain village called Thecoa, in order to know whether it were a place fit for a camp, as I came back, I saw many captives crucified, and remembered three of them as my former acquaintance. I was very sorry at this in my mind, and went with tears in my eyes to Titus, and told him of them; so he immediately commanded them to be taken down, and to have the greatest care taken of them, in order to their recovery; yet two of them died under the physician's hands, while the third recovered
Which sounds a lot like Jesus being cruified with the two men and then him rising again even the names sound similar how Joseph of Arimethea in the Bible was the man who oversaw the burial of Jesus went to Pilate Joseph of Arimathea - Wikipedia
And then you have Josephus who was also known as Josephus Bar Matthias due to his father
Matthias (father of Josephus) - Wikipedia going to Titus
Breh I was depressed finding this stuff out been going through a lot for the past few years that I’ve prayed on and I even sometimes sleep with The Bible right next to me to get through the hard times but now my faith is hanging on by a thread brehs the Romans really might of just sent Josephus to finesse the Hebrews into following the New Testament which could just be Roman religion in code idk man there have been times where I felt the spirit calm my soul and keep me strong but like I really don’t know what to do anymore church not reaching me after finding all this stuff out I might go today but I really don’t know

Understand that you will come to separate religion and spirituality. evolve

Know that man has tampered and altered the text but at the core the teachings are still valuable so take from them what you can.

Ultimately your beliefs and faith will have to be founded in enlightenment and not tied to a denomination.

Keep learning and studying and growing. Don't let this awakening fill you with doubt but rather curiosity.

You're too logical and looked at evidence too objectively. Most likely you were never religious you were just ignoring yourself.
I’m trying to look at thing from both sides one thing keeping me is watching people’s lives get transformed for the better by following the Bible and the accounts of atheists, Muslims, Buddhist, and Christians having nde’s and claiming to see Heaven or having crazy biblical visions but who knows how true or reliable these accounts are I only have their word to go by

Have you ever read the Torah and the Ethiopian Orthodox Bible? If it's the KJV Bible, then I can understand why.

There are 5 stages in grief: The five stages, denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.

Once u accept your new found truth just accept that thw whole world seems to be duped by religion and just start pimping the word. Quote a Bible verse to make your mystified Auntie smile. Impress your coworker by telling her to read Proverbs 31 to her man while they lay in bed. Or you can do like Malachi Z York or Creflo Dollar or Joel Olsteen and take the hustle even further....Start your own congregation and get that tax free money. Religion is a con game. Play the con or be the con.

Yes the old and new testement is just a remix of a remix. Hell, when u think about it, had u been born 2000 years prior we would all be worshipping Jupiter. 3000 years it woulda been Zeus. 4000 years it woulda been Ausar. So one can assume that in just 3000 years into the future all the current gods(allah, Jesus, Jehova, Buddha) will all be looked at as myths the same way we look at Jupiter and Zeus. So take advantage of the misguided and confused mystified people right now while u still can. Again, Religion is a con game. Play the con or be the con.

@Donny I think you are going through a similar stage like I did. In late 2012 I started questioning things (17). At 18, during my Senior year of HS I was still a Christian, but secular. Around 2014 I just started to leave it behind (hardest thing I have ever done) and have been Agnostic ever since. Westernized Christianity just didn't make sense to me. Is that how you're feeling OP and are you heading to Agnosticism? Have you tried Judaism, Islam, New Age/African Spirituality?

Why would a story of crucifixion shake your faith? That was a way that Romans killed people back then, so that should in fact validate your faith due to the accuracy.

Why would the Romans create the new testament to force the Hebrews to believe when they didn't even believe in Christianity, but in fact persecuted Christians initially?

This.

The past 2 years I realized religion is just bullshyt. It’s a way to divide and pin everyone against eachother, a cult. When ultimately, all religion is worshipping the same Higher Power- God. They just name him differently in every religion but the whole concept of religion (the spiritual concept) is what I do strongly believe in. God, angels, the power of prayer, demons, that dreams are meant for communication, etc.
