Would've rather missed the playoffs, gotten a better draft pick and been able to move on from McDermmott.:yeshrug:
The window with this group is just about closed. Diggs and the secondary looks cooked. Shakir is ok, but he's not a #1 option, Gabe probably gone etc.

Their bad/heartbreaking playoff losses are probably the worst of any team. Every decade going back to the 1970’s they have at least one playoff exit (week 17 2003 counts too since the stakes were win and you play next week but if you lose the season is over) that’s up there with if not worse than game 6 of the 2011 World Series type losses. There’s the 4 Super Bowl losses in the 70’s, the drop that lost the nfc title game in 87, the 1998 nfc title game, the 2000 nfc title game, week 17 2003, the 2009 nfc title game, the 2015 wild card loss to Seattle where Blair Walsh missed a 27 yarder at home at the buzzer, and the 2017 nfc title game with a Super Bowl in their own building at stake.

THIS right here is why they deserve the misfortune they have suffered :camby:

ESPECIALLY the team that benefitted from it :scust:

the 2009 nfc title game

2nd-greatest game in NFL history :blessed:

The Cleveland Browns and the Detroit Lions fans (prior to this year) would like to have a word with you.

There are other franchises like the Arizona Cardinals and the Jacksonville Jaguars whose success has been iffy as well outside of a playoff appearance here or there. I know Arizona went to the Super Bowl about 15-16 years ago, but that franchise has been iffy ever since then and before then too. They caught lightening in a bottle and got hot at the right time one year. One year and they been the NFL since like 1970. I truly believe my dude Larry Fitzgerald would have had a Jerry Rice like career if he had any type of consistency at quarterback.

Wasn’t his 3rd try including regular season

I meant 3rd playoff try (2003 and 2004 in NE, 2006 in Indy)
He had faced NE a lot before then because they were in the same division and then were often both division winners (so they'd face in the regular season)
