You know sometimes a bad messenger is worse than a good detractor...she started with a good idea and then went into "how you define success" babble. Why can't Black folks be successful across the board including huge wealth accumulation?
That being said, there is a conversation about whether Black billionaires could leverage their wealth and influence better.
Also, whether there is much hope their wealth stays in the Black community. I did personal research on Black billionaires and super rich a while back. As far as Black billionaires in the US go, of all the billionaires that had kids which have gotten married only one or two married Black, and they were sons from the same family. Also, a lot of the private offices and investment vehicles often only invest in White companies or have mostly White staff (except Bob Johnson's private equity group which has a lot of Black folks). This, not defining success different, is the assimilation discussion to have.

The problem was in the turn of the century some of them were lowkey c00ns that wanted their already lightskinned children to marry out and the other issue was most of their money was made in the segregated closed market. Once segregation ended there was less reason to use their businesses.
The difference today is outside of entertainment Black Billionaires of today make their money without depending on the Black Dollar specifically so they create great products and innovative marketing, So if they're kids fukk off the money and marry out it's because of their own personal choices.

Every Black billionaire who has had a daughter who got married is/was married to a White dude. Even Cosby's daughters. The sons all marry out too except for that one family. Earl Graves (Black Enterprise) sons are another exception i forgot, they all married Black too but Graves wasn't a billionaire though he was up there.
Before someone says it is a class issue only two couples (a Black girl and a Black guy) married wealthy White folks. The rest married regular middle/upper middle class folks.
Not trying to shame IR or claim they can't live their lives but does any other group see their richest almost completely not marry their own? We have to basically remake fortunes every generation unless their mixed children marry Black.
This is part of why I tell Black folks relying on a plan from the Black elite to save us is a bad strategy. We are going to have to organize and fund from the ground up. Then if we want to pressure elites we can but I honestly am not sure how beneficial that would be.

To keep it a stack if you make more than 100K a year there's a very good chance that if you're kids don't go to jail that your grndkids won't look like you. Maybe if you lived in Say P,G, County or some Black enclave where there's a lot of likeminded equally yoked people but if have several hundred million and you want you're great grandkids to able to use your comb then You'd better move to South Africa or Nigeria.
