Nope. There's a bidding process for routes. CTA has you on call for the first 9 months doing relief work, then you become eligible to bid. Needless to say, I chose trucking over that.

My dad been driving the bus for almost 20 years now. He works in the airport though, much, much better and easier. You still got the shytty cab drivers and what not, but there’s virtually no traffic and the riders are affluent people. Pilots, flight attendants, maintenance workers, etc.

I used to go to work with him when I was little and drive around in circles in the airport all day. I almost got in to it but I fukked up my driving record

you are driving the same route all day going in a circle, and it's not like you are cruising you are stopping every other block so it's like driving in constant traffic. You don't have a radio or music and have to deal with unruly passengers. I wonder what the suicide rates are.

I dislike driving life and the system is corrupt
