I don't know about other states, but in Cali most PD's start off in the low 60s for their salary. Factor in overtime, and most of them bring in 70+ their first couple of years. After 5 years our so they bring in around 100k, and a degree is not a requirement. Its actually a great career, I know the CHP have 4.0 plan where essentially you get 4 percent of your salary for every year you work for retirement up to 90 percent. Most of these guys retire in their early 50's and still bring in 70-80g's a year for the rest of their lives and this is not factoring in any 401k plans they may have.

So in short if you want a career with great benefits, good pay and overall a pretty exciting work day all without any degree requirements, come to Cali and be a cop.Oh and cops pull hoes.

Being a teacher is not very rewarding financially..
and then you factor in the horrible kids that you began your job thinking you'd have the 'power' to inspire
their even worse parents
and the fact that -depending upon what subject you teach- all you could wind up doing is simply furthering a bunch of lies.

Or to be more specific, if you're a teacher who has to teach standard 'history' instead of real history
or if you have to teach that mathematics came from the greeks or romans or whichever one they claim or if you have to teach that Aristotle and einstein were the fathers of science(versus teaching about the Afrikan scientists and astrologists who came long before either of them)

or if you read to the kids from books that refer to Native Americans as the "savages", then all you're really doing is furthering false idols and lies.

And so I mention all of those things because when combined, all they all make teaching in this country a not so glamorous gig. And of course this is just generally speaking, grade school levels, etc., and depending on what type of person you are.

I think teaching is dependent on who is actually teaching. I had some amazing teachers that changed my life.

Then there were the ones that were obviously there to collect a check.

Being a substitute teacher is the WOAT.

The students make it their job to make your life a living hell. I should know.

I always thought being a substitute teacher was better.

Students would only make your life hell if you try to stamp your authority. As long as,no one leaves the classroom or gets hurt, you have done your job.

If kids fail at the end of the year, no one points fingers at the sub teacher who was there for a brief period.

You can basically make money doing fuk all
