Belichick. Especially because Brady wasn't "that dude " during those first 3 SBs.

As an Eagles fan that vividly remembers 2004, this is false. Brady was only a system qb the first year. After that, he definitely proved himself. It takes a grade A hater to say someone isn’t a top quarterback after 3 (almost consecutive) rings.

The strength of those teams was their defense.

Heck, look at this article. Is this Patriots coach a hater? Unnamed assistant says Patriots coaches think they could win without Tom Brady

I’m too tired to argue. If we’re still arguing that Tom Brady wasn’t a good quarterback in 2020 nothing is gonna change your mind. You can clearly go pull his stats post 2001 and there’s nothing pedestrian there. He was clearly a top quarterback. Believe what you want though.

To that point, Before Brady got an opportunity, he wasn't even an after thought. A lot of things needed to fall into place in order for him to get a shot.

All it took was an injury and he made the most of it. He was still the backup. Beli could've cut him or made him the 3rd string QB. Many QBs get their opportunity the same way he did but he made the most of it like Kurt Warner and Nick Foles did. Not many succeed in that situation. You can't just say a lot of things had to fall in place because that's every scenario.

I didn't say he wasn't good. I said he wasn't the key driver of those first 3 Super Bowls. Besides the Carolina SB game, he didn't beast in any other of his first 9 playoff wins. The defense and special teams were lights out besides in that game. Brady was pedestrian in those first two Colts playoff wins. Rodney and Ty were exceptional in the 2003 game, as was Jarvis Green. Rodney boasted in the 2004 game, as did Corey Dillon.

Dillon was their best offensive player on their 2004 team.

Again, Brady was not "that dude" during those first 3 rings.

Brady was 3rd in the league in MVP voting in his 3rd yr as a starter but somehow he wasnt that guy? Ok. "Tom Brady is a combination of Dan Marino and Warren." Joe Theismann during the leadup to Superbowl 39. 2004 season.

The voting was wack that year. Brady wasn't the driver of the offense, nor was he even a Pro Bowler. LOL at that being MVP worthy. Manning, McNair, Green were all better that year in the AFC. It's also a travesty that he was ahead of both Jamal Lewis (and his 2066 yards) and Priest with his 27 TDs. That's white QB love for you though.

The Patriots had the No.1 scoring D that year and the No.12 scoring O and mans are supposed to believe Brady was MVP worthy that year?

In the playoffs he was a game manager in 2 out of the 3 wins.

The D picked Manning off 4 time and the game was still a contest with less than 2 minutes left. Brady almost fumbled it away at the end but his knee was just down (Freeney recovered it). The Patriots won 24-14. 17 points came from special teams...I'm not sure if you watched the Patriots that year but Brady definitely wasn't that dude. He was good but Belichick was waaaaaaaay more influential during those years. Hell, even Jon Kitna had a comparable year to Brady.

Okay so Joe Theismann said that...what do you make of a Patriots coach saying Brady is overrated?

How was he not the driver of the offense? They had a 30th ranked.rushing attack and no standout WRs. Who was driving it?

No.he wouldve been 5th in my eyes..the fact is he was voted 3rd whether you agree or disagree.

Why are you showing me a game that I watched as it happened?? Stop using the term "game manager" its used as an insult when its a compliment. Everybody QB game manages. The term you wanna use is "caretaker". A caretaker is someone who is rarely asked to throw for fear of messing up. Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hostetler etc those are caretakers. Brady threw 41times and 37 times. Also both games were in frigid.conditions. what did you expect a 41-37 shootout??

Um I watched almost every game Brady played.
Brady played great.in that Colts game if you actually watched the game. He converted 4 4th downs and.was sharp all game. Too bad Fauria dropped 2 easy Td passes. Jon Kitna?? I can easily point out years where Scott Mitchell.outperformed Dan.Marino or Steve Beurlein outperformed Peyton Manning..lame asd.point..anybody can outperform someone better for a year or two. Or Joe Theismann outperformed Joe Montana. Ricky williams and Ahman Green had more yards rushing than LT. Your point??

Okay so Joe Theismann said that...what do you make of a Patriots coach saying Brady is overrated?

Joe Theismann has no agenda, a Patriots coach trying to minimize Brady, does..We have Joe Theissmann saying he was a hybrid of Dan Marino and Warren Moon in 2005 and Sterling Sharpe in 2005 saying I think Brady is the best player in football by far. Monte Kiffin saying that Quarterback is unbelievable and Ronde Barber saying he was a living legend in 2005. But apparently he was a nobody. Why would Brian Fletcher walk up to Peyton and say "Beat Tom Brady on a game winning drive to go to the Superbowl, what more could you ask for." Mushin Muhammad showing ultimate respect during the Superbowl...

@broiler you said Brady game managed against Pittsburgh. Laughable..he threw two.bombs(one a Td and another led to a td) which led to Pitt falling into a deep hole. Of course they ran the ball and played ball control the entire second half. They were up 21.

TV commentators have agendas..to make the viewer want to watch.

2005 was after their first 3 rings. In 2005 Brady led the league in passing and started to become more of a driver of the team.

Muhsin said that because Brady had success on game winning drives. He just said the game wasn't over because they have Tom. People said the same shyt about Tebow when he had his short magical run.

Again, Brady was good but he wasn't the driver of the team. People speak in hyperbole. Players will overrate other players at times. Just look at some of those NFL top 100 lists...

I honestly don't see that post. Where did I say that?
