theres a lot of black inner city teens that idolize rappers and athletes only.

you could take a video and do street interviews and do trick questions like i will give you 100 dollars if you guess what team marcus garvey play for. these kids would take the bait and start guessing sports teams. :wow:
And inner city kids idolizing musicians and athletes started with hip hop?

The same C. Dolores Tucker that wanted a Hip Hop label.

:mjlol:

I can guarantee you, if this is true, it was not to promote filth in hip hop. IF this is true, she was probably doing the civilized thing and presenting an alternative to artists so they wouldn't need to go with labels that had no qualms about peddling filth to the black community.

Why the fukk do we have to be so simplistic about everything. Let's use our critical thinking skills. :beli:

Most of you support thugs rather than men like Dr. Carson..... If he is not a "good example of black progression and excellence" then who is..... 2 pac? :pachaha:
Just because you don't agree with the way someone thinks doesn't mean you denounce their accomplishments. Not saying I agree with Carson but I'm not going to take away his accolades simply because I don't like what he said. Fickle and Petty.

Rap/ hip hop started out with an overall positive and uplifting theme. Once it was commercialized aka monetized by whites, it's been used as a tool against us. I don't know why people dont see this lol it's pretty clear as day. No one (well at least me) is saying the art form in itself is bad, but the commercialized, popular, global representation of said art form is poisonous and destructive.

Rappers are to blame for their part, but the blood is on the hands of this white run corporations

As if things were sweet for black people before hip hop came along :pachaha:

Sounds like the same conservative rhetoric from people that once called Ray Charles's music demonic or Blues the Devil's music.

More black men are in college than ever, teen pregnancies are down since 1990. Crime is getting lower and lower.

You know what set the community back, the crack cocaine filled 1980s, not music.

Don't forget rock and roll being called n*gger music.

Like really how hard is it to be a Black Republican? I think it would be fairly easy, but then again I guess having to appeal to rednecks and wealthy racist is the tough part as they want to hear you verbally bash blacks.

Like I outside of being black, I would think republicans would figure out they could win votes (minus the gay vote) by just having a simple agenda promoting: 1.Small Business Entrepreneur ship, Welfare reform that would put focus on training welfare recipients in a trade and placing them into a entry level job. 3. Promoting "Family", push education to be STEM focused, etc. But the avg american is dumb as rocks so who cares.
Yep.

I know tons of black people who are technically republicans but the sheer racism of the party just pushes them away.

Dudes can't talk about the nature of entertainment and its influence without feeling slighted :ld:

I remember reading this man's autobiography "Gifted Hands"'in elementary school and marveling at his story, thinking that he was a good example of black progression and excellence....

How wrong all of THAT turned out to be :scust:

Breh, if I had a time machine, I'd go back in time and slap that book out of my 10/11 year old hands and dare him to pick it back up. I'd put the Autobiography of Malcom X in my young hands and tell myself to "figure it out" but Carson ISN'T a guy you should be proud of

THREE-OH-FIVE TILL I DIE
The half white dude in office has done NOTHING for Black folks.
Nothing of substance anyway.

Although, I'm still holding out for an eleventh hour reparations executive order from him.

Funny how people who blame Hip Hop for black peoples problems cite NO sources, they dont bring up that there is literally no correlation between Hip Hop and crime, ignore the fact that crime DECREASES in cities where Hip Hop has a boom, and pretend that everything was fine and dandy for blacks before Hip Hop came along. No music genre that has gotten this label has ever been proven to negatively impact a populace, maybe some odd individuals but not populaces.

Dude ignores his own fukked up government for blacks problems, like the drug war, and institutional racism, and blames Hip Hop. fukk this sambo c00n.

Yep.

I know tons of black people who are technically republicans but the sheer racism of the party just pushes them away.

By definition the avg coli militant would be a "republican" but its the sheer fact republicans are associated with being racist that makes people throw c00n at anyone who considers themselves one. But on the contrary its hard to find a black republican who isnt throwing out Fox news racist buzz words/phrases.

Me personally i dont label myself anything but it's sick when i hear folks say they are affiliated with a party and dont know why. I respect someone who just says they dont have faith in the system or they dont vote cause they dont give a damn (as long as they dont complain about what happens in politics) more than someone blindly supporting something.
