While discussing his opposition to Common Core, Trump said he’d picked up some interesting ideas about education policy during an hour-long Thursday conversation with his former 2016 rival.
“He has such a great handle on it,” the GOP frontrunner said of Carson. “He wants competitive schools and a lot of different things that are terrific, including charter schools that the unions are fighting like crazy. But charter schools work and work very well. There are a lot of things. I'm going to have Ben very involved with education, something that's an expertise of his.”

The problem is I translate that to be Trump saying: "The Doctor ****** has a good handle on how to keep the little niglets in place correctly and break the status quo to make it even worse and divide ******s even further amongst themselves socio-economically"
I agree charter schools are AN answer - But not THE answer wholly in and of themselves. The experiment is a mixed bag in Philly. You have charter schools that produce former ghetto crack babies turned ultra scholars, and then you have ones rife with violence and ignorance.
A Standardization is needed and there is no way to get around the fact that you can't have investors putting private funds into education. The government HAS to get a grip on itself, there is a way to introduce privatization in a productive way but Charter schools there is a large margin for inconsistency and error when applied nationwide. Conservatives are too gung ho about it being implemented across the board with reckless abandonment.
