Why wouldn't it? 3-tiers of d-league and giving the option of an 18 year old to get drafted and play in the d-league ranks for a year instead of 1 and done in college makes sense to me

Honestly I think going to school is a good idea.
However, what they should be learning at school is courses that will help you out in your career/life immediately.

First year should be classes on finances and real life shyt. Not wasting time with classes like history or whatever.

Maybe a pr course or a communications course.

You see how your first reaction is: but but he could get injured! That's because you're kind of hoping he does get injured. And so what if he does, he'll have surgery, rehab, and still probably have a great NBA career, while you work a 9-5. Deal with it.
