His house in LA has been for sale since 2022. Now he's trying to auction it off instead of the conventional listing. Based on his home and car purchases (he bought a $2M Porsche) it seems like was spending in anticipation of 1-2 additional max contracts.

If it's been on sale for 2 years and he really wants to get rid of it, especially when rates are what they are now compared to then. Then perhaps going by auction is just a reasonable move as it it's quicker than using a realtor.
