It’s not that far fetched when you do the math if they’re not financially disciplined.

If someone can't live off $17M, they're a serious moron. I mean, he's getting that PER YEAR....whole generations could live off $17M for decades, if invested properly and if people live frugally enough.

There's reckless spending, and then there's just being batshyt retarded.

I tell my kids to say the word NO twice a day - once to yourself and once to someone else. It’s empowering and requires discipline. These athletes are food out there if they can’t master the ability to Say this very simple word.

If anyone deserves to go broke after squandering millions it's Ben Simmons bum ass

Yeah I ain't rooting for anyone to suffer, but some people are just destined to.

Everything about Ben Simmons screams incompetent. Type of dude that could totally botch something as simple as waking up in the morning. :unimpressed:

Context matters. If you take the average 18 or 19 year old who probably wouldn’t have attended college if not for sports and give them $17 million per year, most of them are gonna blow it. And it’s not mostly reckless spending on themselves. It’s financially supporting 40+ friends and family.

17 Ms aint shyt if you living like you got 40. Most Americans are in debt. America is in debt. The more money you make and younger you are (dude still aint 30 yet :wow:) the less likely you are to manage it properly. People act like money management isnt a skill.

Yeah Gilbert Arenas broke it down on one of his old pods. Basically a lot of NBA players start getting loans and mortgages in their first year in anticipation of future earnings. It’s an endless cycle where they’re living in anticipation of another big contract.

They actually got it worse because the illusion of having more than you do, the illusion of even more money coming like you said, and then everybody knows how much you make and got their hands out. Then add to that being in your early to mid 20s when everybody wilds out and does stupid shyt. People get caught up in the amount but that doesnt matter if you dont know how to manage it.
