Ehhhhh Fultz is kind of a different story as Boston hoodwinked Philly into moving up for him knowing that they wanted Tatum the entire time. He wasn't going to go #1 otherwise.

i mean fultz had a lot of hype and if I recall he was pretty much mocked as the number 1 pick. Granted he wasn’t one of those #1 picks like Zion, Blake, Katy, lebron, Simmons, or AD where it was like a 10/10 chance they were going to be the pick.

Where’s the homie who said fultz had p*ssy eyes :russ: he was spot on with his assessment

That's the mental abuse he had from his mom. He requested that 76ers don't draft him because he was close to Maryland. Then you had the BMX bike injury that mess his career up.

Probably Fultz.:yeshrug:

People like to look back and say Fultz wasn't it all along but that is simply not the case.

Danny Ainge has admitted on record though that he was always going to take Tatum whether it was at the #1 pick or not. He just knew that Philly really wanted Fultz and the Lakers were dead set on taking Lonzo at #2. That's why I say that Fultz wouldn't have went #1 if Boston was making the pick, although they could have theoretically still drafted and traded the pick to Philly on draft night anyways.

If Boston wasn't going to take Tatum, then PHX was going to do, which is originally where Tatum said that he wanted to go so I can believe the rumor.

Aye bro I get what you’re saying but leave the Hawks out of this. LP and Trae had beef for at least 2 years before LP got fired. The Hawks made a decision to move from LP only after they determined that LP could no longer lead this franchise, it wasn’t just a Trae thing
That’s not how it looked from the outside tho.

There were plenty of people (me included) calling Trae a diva for demanding the team get better last off season before he’d proven anything, all the leaked stories of teammates (John Collins) not enjoying playing with him and him not getting along with the coach. All those stories came out about a month before y’all fired your coach.

Brolic... Alcoholics
Goorjian’s comments come after Aussie basketball icon Andrew Bogut weighed in on the “ugly” stand-off between Simmons and the 76ers. “It’s not good for either party, in my opinion. Ben’s side of things, training with your phone in your pocket, not being glued in to what’s going on,” Bogut told SEN on Wednesday. “Unfortunately, he has form doing these kinds of things; we experienced it with the national team. “There’s not going to be too much sympathy for him, but hopefully they can sort it out and both parties can have something positive to come out of it.”

So cuh was pulling stunts like this with the National team? This nikka is wild. :mjlol:

All he needs to be is some semblance of an average free throw and jumpshooter. Even Giannis level shooter would be good enough for him.
It's not even the shooting necessarily, it's the confidence. He doesn't need any of Giannis's skills, he needs the same confidence and humility Giannis has.

Outside of Boston, every team in the league was taking Fultz #1 that year. That's the only reason Boston would have been willing to do that trade in the first place; it wasn't a "hoodwink" really.

It was a "hoodwink" as Boston was literally putting out feelers the entire time that they wanted Fultz, which spooked Philly into jumping up and getting him while giving up the Laker's first round pick (Kyle Kuzma) in the process. Otherwise, Philly would have had no reason to move up as all as no other team was going to move up to #1 otherwise as the Lakers were always going to take Lonzo and Phoenix was going to take Tatum if he was still on the board so they had no reason to move up and get him. We only knew after the draft and Ainge said it that they were going to take Tatum regardless.

Let's not have revisionist history about what happened.

Ehhh just because you like a player doesn't mean that you would have drafted them if they had the opportunity to do so. The only reason why I believe Ainge when he says it is that they had the #1 pick in that particular draft, so there was no reason for them whatsoever to trade down other than accumulating assets.

Everyone knew that the Lakers were taking Lonzo so they could easily move down and still get Tatum plus a pick in the process, which is what they did.

Some players are more transcendent than others and every team will take that player #1 regardless of the talent that they have on the roster and I think Simmons was one of those players at the time. Fultz ehhhhhhh it's debatable.
