Stipulations that pay is tied to time on the court and preventing someone from getting paid and not playing absent an injury
Owners/Front Offices can already do that with any contract during negotiations so I'm not sure I get why the league would need to shut down for something they can already implement currently ..thats the exact kind of deal Joel Embiid had coming off of his foot problems.. And the same deal many speculate Zion will have offered to him by the pelicans.. Its literally already a thing... additionally how would that stop what Harden was alleged of doing? In your supposed fix..whats to stop a guy from suiting up and playing like shyt on purpose just so he passes the games played/in uniform clause
Now if you're talking about that kind of games played language being unilaterally implemented without any actual
just cause that would essentially be removing the guarantee in a guaranteed contract something that the NBAPA prides itself on as opposed to the NFLPA and additionally who would be determining what constitutes an “injury”??certainly couldn't be the team doctors as that conflict of interest would clearly violate any fair labor negotiation practices..so now you're left with an arbiter...which.... You guessed it...
they already have this is what Ben is currently going through with the 6ers... His case is being brought to an independent arbiter to be judged...
There seems to be this fantasy that owners will ever be able to say that a player is faking an injury without having that proven independently... We’ll see tho...one of us will be right in a few months
