He's comparing him to Grant Hill because Hill was not a good shooter before he was drafted but he went on to have a hall of fame career

Simmons is an equal athlete and a better passer than Hill at this stage. It's not a crazy comparison

For those questioning his work ethic, realize that he gained 20 lbs of muscle since leaving LSU
And no he can't shoot but neither could a certain 6'9 PG who had a pretty nice career
Not saying he on that level as a playmaker (for the dumb nikkas here) but his versatility as a ball handler/rebounder may make his inability to score less of an issue

He can't shoot and his finishing under the rim is subpar. Much of his draft status comes from his instincts, size and passing, not shooting or finishing, which scares me. That said, he could become a Draymond Green type player if he dedicates himself to his craft.

That sounds like Magic Johnson coming out of college. Magic was an above average finisher though; otherwise that is a dead on scouting report for Magic Johnson.

If Ben Simmons is half as driven as Magic Johnson, then Simmons might have pretty decent career.
