Benny and Conway are BOTH elite. Like ... it’s 1a or 1B... either way. You don’t even have to slight one or the other.
And THIS is what I be sayin. I think Conway is the overall better lyricist while Benny is up there lyrically but on the flip he has the better delivery so it balances out.

Hit-Boy's shyt always sounds mad generic to me, or like knock-off versions of past beats we heard on classic albums. Too many software presets and loops. Something's missing there. @Awesome Wells

This is exactly what i was feeling off first listen... Same with kings disease which granted grew on me. I guess @TheDarceKnight is right i gotta give it the whip test

Exactly.

I felt the same about King's Disease too, but to a lesser degree. I just never got into HB's beats. Back in like '09, when he was doing the Surf Club thing with Chase N. Cashe, he was doing a lot of co-production and the tracks were a lot better. Once he stepped away and started doing his own thing, his beats always felt bland or like they were missing something. I still get the same vibe today. Probably because he's using a lot of Logic Pro presets and sample kits.

The thing I always respected about Griselda was the in-house approach. That's what helped them kill shyt and grow their following. Sticking to keeping everything in the family and letting people come to them. That gritty sound and bringing back that traditional essence, for a new generation. I kinda feel like branching out might kill their momentum. They're better off without that.

Christ. :picard:. This would be so good that Big Pharma would have to start trading cocaine on the New York Stock Exchange :whoa:

Probably won't be a popular opinion, but I'd throw Armani Caesar in that mix as the Fox stand-in.

I dug some of her work on 'The Liz' but her verse and hook on 'Liz Loves Luger' sold me - If Gunn had gone more 'Ice Cream' than 'Wildflower' that shyt had all the ingredients to be something.

I agree, Armani killed that shyt with her hook and verse but Westside kinda ruined what it could have been imo with his approach lol. I don't get the Armani hate tbh. I'm not saying she the best lyricist of all time or whatever but I can see her fit in as a fly female rapper who talks that luxury shyt like the rest of them do.

Even when they go to radio stations to freestyle Con would go off and a few times Benny would stumble.

Both these nikkas dropped 2 of the best projects this year though. And I don't understand nikkas trying to act like Con isn't just as dope. What happens if GDMM is better than this?
