Ya'll are fukking greedy :mjlol:

He released an album a few months ago.....

Back in the day we had 6 month album roll outs
Hell yeah. And it was a big deal if someone dropped an album every year. Jay made such a huge deal out of dropping every year that it was basically the calling card of his career from 96 through his 'retirement' in 03. And for good reason because it really wasn't common at all for an annual album drop back in the day.

Found a pic of the back of TT3. It has WSG as Exec Producer but I got an time-coded interview below where Benny talks about the process. He asks Benny how many ideas he throws out for his own projects, and Benny says it was his idea to merge 2 different songs together to make '97 Hov. He also says almost all of it was recorded in 2017 even though it dropped late 2018, and that the Alchemist tracks were added gradually as they got cooler. Benny said he had the opportunity to sequence the album himself, but he let Daringer and Alchemist do it. He doesn't mention anything about WSG. I really think they just put WSG as Exec Producer on everything because he's in charge.

not a fan of fraud but i guess i gotta listen to this one
Fraud to me is like Chick-Fil-A or In-N-Out. His beats are like fast food, but they are good quality fast food.

Also I thought he did level up a little bit in 2020. If you missed them, at least check out OutRunners and Director's Cut with Currensy, Glass 2.0 with Meyhem Lauren, and Keep Going with Larry June. A lot of those beats are better than his older shyt.

I'll never understand why it's been so hard for Jadakiss to make a really dope album. He's got access to all the right people that could help him put one together. IMO he always tried to cry the Life After Death formula on every album but could never pull it off. He tries to hit too many demographics and target audiences. Styles and Sheek aren't as bad at this, but it even happened on the Lox album last year. There were a couple joints on there that sounded like they were trying to be hit records. I don't even know why they would attempt that anymore.

Kiss should really should stop trying the 90's and 00's album formulas and just embrace his :flabbynsick: demographic.

People can say what they want about Griselda, but every member has at least 2 strong albums in their catalogue already. They may not have as many hits as some New York rappers from the golden era, but they're good at crafting cohesive projects.

yeah i havent checked for him in years since he was doing French Montana/Bronson taking great samples and adding horrific drums to them. I did hear the Larry June tape tho and that was good. I'm not a true hater so i'll def peep :wow:

I'm a say it. I think they should start to slow down. They have enough material to make a classic LP.

I love what I've heard and it's clear Benny and Conway (moreso) are improving. But the truly greats take 2+ year album breaks. Build up real demand. Imagine if we all waited one year for 1 Griselda project..it would prolly get more attention, be engineered better, and actually sell/stream more.

I know ppl. scared of losing engagement but then u gotta ask urself, if ur product is that microwavable, is it truly as great as it could be?

Griselda is not really set up to move how you're suggesting.

They're still basically one foot in the indie game. Covid fukked up tour money, they gotta drop projects and the merch to go with it to keep the money flowing.

I don't disagree with what you're saying but smaller artists are kinda stuck in a hard spot right now.

Fred.
