Bernie Sanders' 'deplorable' Barack Obama comments spark anger on MLK anniversary

The quote that triggered the responses

Speaking in Jackson, Mississippi, he said Democrats had lost a record number of legislative seats.

"The business model, if you like, of the Democratic Party for the last 15 years or so has been a failure,' said the Vermont Senator.

"People sometimes don't see that because there was a charismatic individual named Barack Obama. He was obviously an extraordinary candidate, brilliant guy. But beyond that reality..."

On its face, it seems like Sanders is saying that Obama's presence hid the fact that the Democratic Party has had terrible party leadership and tactics for the last 15 years. But is Sanders really low-key getting at Obama through this dig at the Dems? What is true and what is not?

Bernie tells no lies? Or is he using the truth to tell a lie?

I'm still not voting for these old heads next election. :umad:

What's your top 3?

Bernie still shytting on the party he wants to Embrace him as one of their own during presidential elections?

He's gonna stay shytting on them. He's still salty about the primaries (as he should be) and the base is moving in his direction not the DNC's.

Just waiting to see who runs. I'll make my decision closer to the primaries.

I think the Dem base is as varied as always. Younger voters are more progressive. Older voters haven't seemed to move. The DNC has been successful with its 50 state strategy in special elections. I think the midterms will be be a better barometer and will ultimately determine the platform for 2020.

He didn't criticize Obama. He said Obama is a brilliant guy, won two terms, but beyond that the Democratic Party kept losing at the state and local level. Facts.

The fact that people online are getting triggered about it is more false outrage and another attempt to smear Sanders as some racist bigot on par with Trump.

bernie has been a senator for almost 3 decades and his accomplishments are few if any.
Will be glossed over heavy.

Bu bu bu Hillary did him wrong.:francis:

He clearly chose the wrong occupation. :mjlol:

Still waiting on folks to name even 5 people on the Hill that would have backed his ideas.

There is a reason he didn't kick ass in the primaries and it had nothing to do with Hillary. Now name those 5 people.:ehh:

Exactly. This is about trying to neutralize Bernie Sanders for 2020. They know most dummies only read the headline and not the rest of the article.

I'll say it again. Obama was a moderate republican who CAMPAIGNED as a liberal.
