Besides gaming, are there any advantages to owning a PC over a high end Macbook Pro?

For me, no.

- I hate OSX
- I like to be able to upgrade/replace parts easily
- I use a lot of Windows only software (Blender 3D, some music shyt)

And even if money isn't a factor, it's still a factor. What MacBook is fukking with something like this for similar money? :ld:

IMO it's not a decision that can be rationalized. It's like getting a Lexus over a Toyota, which is fine, but not rational.
Nothing will match that, but of course...The MacBook will be in "Space Gray" so they have that going for them.

For Windows:

The infinite software available.
Easier repairs.
Familiarity and abundance of Windows.
Lower cost of entry.
Vastly different models and modular potential for hardware.
Primary user base for anything computer related.
These two are the strongest arguments. Mac likes to lock you into their ecosystem. Legacy software doesn't have as much support as well.

I got 3 MacBook pros, 1 dell xps laptop and a decent build PC

I prefer MacBook the operation system feel faster

Other laptops seem like they crap out faster too, don't seem durable for the daily grind

Plus I'm a IPhone user so compatibility is a plus

I love my 2016 touch bar 15" MacBook Pro interested in seeing what the refreshed iMac specs is

Its not hate if it's true :sas1:

The people upset that their 2GB non upgradeable RAM macbook had to be dumped after 2 years or so :russ:

Planned obsolescence at its finest.
My wife's MacBook is like 6 years old. I changed the battery, swapped to a 500GB SSD, added some RAM.... def has some more life in it :manny:

But she could have avoided all this if she had just let me build her a Hackintosh in the first place :aicmon:

I love my Macbook, but there is so much software/games out there that are exclusive to Windows that it makes me have second thoughts.....

This Macbook is a beast though, had it for going on 2 years and it still starts up and runs like new, haven't had any issues and its sturdy and has a tough feeling about it (doesn't feel flimsy and cheap).
