I think its generally obvious with a few exceptions. As a kid, i never REALLY thought steve young was really good because he played his position so well under montana...but you can usually tell who is content and who isnt
I actually think its the other way around...if u want to be a threat but cant be one cuz youre just not good enough...you can either a)try to do too much and get kicked off the team
b) just follow what your coach has to say and wait for your chance

Thread makes no sense to me....if you're not challenging the starter, then how can you be the best backup? The backup's main goal is to start.

Thread makes PLENTY of sense.

Think of it like this:

If u was married, who'd be the best jumpoff:

The one who never caused any problems, didnt run her mouth, didnt want to mess shyt up for u at home

OR

The one who catch emotions after fukkin u, calls up to your wife's job sayin "I fukked your man", not knowin her position, thinkin she wifey, etc

Apples and oranges.

Wifey and Jumpoff serve two different roles. If wifey dies, I'm not expecting jumpoff to step in and take care of wifey's duties. Backup QB is expected to step in and take the reins if the starter goes down or starts fukking up.

It's like the best minor league player being defined as a guy who spends his career in the minors....nah, better ones came and moved up.
