fukk that shyt...

Major in Math young brotha and get into Data Science or Actuarial Science.

This here. There are so many fields that I can go into once I get this math degree. It really is a general STEM degree that is applicable anywhere.

Most math majors have to take enough physics to go into many physical science fields for a Master's Degree as well.

TA - teacher's assistant; the grad student that runs the non-class study sessions (you have those right?)

Scan your test and showed us what you missed. Was it enthalpy of reactions that messed you up or balancing the reactant/product amounts?

Hmm nope I don't think we have those. No we just started balancing equations now. I dont even know man because I came in there confident. I think it was the different wording that threw me off tbh.

These websites :

Professor Leonard

Khan Academy

mathispower4u

Can help you out with Calculus, Physics and Chemistry.
I often wait too late into the semester to utilize resources like this so if you find
yourself in school going for a STEM major like a form of Engineering then
I suggest you use these from the beginning or even to work ahead.

Do this plus any kind of tutoring available at your community college like
supplemental instruction or general tutoring, these two combined will
bring you many A's, however, it will not be easy.

And since we're talking about engineering, from my experience dealing with
engineers and the expectations placed on them. IT IS NOT an easy job, so
if hard work in school is giving you cold feet or isn't an enjoyable experience for
you, actually applying these skills learned over the next three to four years
at work will be a very similar experience. So I think you should definitely use these classes
on top of the weed out classes to find out if you're about that life.

Cause if you aren't, don't walk into a career you'll probably hate.

** IF you're on the west coast, all of our CC's are pipelines into the CSU's and UC's but you
can also look into colleges in states near Cali like Arizona and Nevada, they're looking to
take west coast students and with the standardization of ABET Accredited Engineering
degrees, they'll likely take your CC credit with no problem.

Thanks for the resources. Yea I read about Cali's CC agreement with universities. Im in Texas btw.
I wish I had took high school more seriously. I kinda sucks seeing ppl that you graduated with already doing interships lol at their uni. :mjcry::snoop:
Thats why trying to do well here so when I transfer I can have some scholarships hopefully.

First things first, you can't pass this stuff with a defeatist mentality.

Focus on what's in front of you.

Focus on becoming the person you want to be and not everyone else.

Also consider that stem usually takes people longer to finish. It's not easy but It's not impossible to do either.

I failed my fair share of classes, but the trick is to develop good study habits more than anything. STEM is an endurance race.

I just want to Vouch for Professor Leonard. I watched his Calc 3 playlist all summer last year and made like a 97 A++ that Fall :wow: He has playlists to literally walk you through undergrad Math starting at College Algebra , Calc 1-3, and is doing Differential Equations Now

I can vouch for professor Leonard as well. @spaceXjamzZ put me on:mjlit:

He explains everything the way you wish your math professor would :wow:

Texas got a decent course transfer deal with most of the colleges. you got a list of places to transfer or just lookin for whoever throws a scholarship your way?

Mostly scholarships but I'm looking at hbcu's or stem focused school. Pvamu, Rice, Uofh for example.

Do you think I could get any scholarships to great schools out of state?

Rice you gonna need top top grades. especially as a transfer student the acceptance rate aint in your favor so dont get discouraged if you get rejected. they dont allow a lot of transfer students.

if you dont plan on graduate school tho it would be a good name to have for job opportunities. if you plan on any type of graduate school GPA more important than name(rice would still help tho)

i think Prairie View slightly cheaper than U of H, and education wise choosing U of H doesnt do anything better than Prairie View, they beat them on endowment but that dont always mean the schools better, just means they have more money coming in.

especially since you prefer an HBCU then the choice between PV and U of H is easy.

Ok thanks. I was just considering Rice because all new incoming students will have tuition free if accepted they just changed it this year.

As far as graduate I don't know even yet lol. What are majoring in?

I love it. While I plan on going to a career that is an applied math, I totally understand how people fall in love with pure math (it is not profitable tho and I lust for money at this point). There are less physics but I will have to take more than the average math major.

I did pretty poorly at math in HS. The K12 system does not determine who you are and what you can do. It is worth just doing as well as you can in cc and then transferring. Also find the counselor that seems to be the most successful at getting students in good 4-year institutions and latch onto them lmao.

Also when you transfer you will be able to apply for REUs (research experience for undergrads). Just flip through this list and you could be doing one of these opportunities in your future. Search for an REU Site | NSF - National Science Foundation

If you can get into Rice you set then:salute:
And rice def the top of the food chain for STEM, so it fits with your career path.

Im doin Journalism and then applying to law school.

If you decide to do something like medical or law, your undergrad degree won’t matter as much give or take a couple of classes. Know a guy who majored in music and now he’s an M.D.did his undergrad music bullshyt at UT n got accepted for med at Johns Hopkins :mjlol:

I want a Master's for sure but the idea of a doctorate is very appealing. I will probably have to move pretty far to attend a school in the field though.

Maybe your school has advisors? Or maybe you have a favorite professor and you are interested in following their research. You can communicate with them during office hours.
