MJ/Pippen
Kobe/Shaq
Magic/Kareem
Cousy/Russell
Bird/McHale
Dr. J/Moses Malone
Stockton/Malone
Drexler/Olajuwon
LeBron/Wade

Who is it?

I didn't actually listen to much of their show this morning, but this question came across my twitter feed and I thought it was an interesting one....

It's gonna largely come down to generational preferences though, I think.

Shaq and Kobe had by far the worst supporting cast compared to Jordan/Pip and certainly magic Kareem

They definitely could have been the GOAT combo. You are talking about 2 players who are top 5 in their positions all-time AND played in their primes. By the time Magic got to L.A. Kareem was already in his 11th year...tho still had that sky hook :wow:

MJ/Pippen is the answer here, obviously :comeon:

Complete bias/personal preference, LeBron and Wade.

Those are my boys. Watching them go through what they did and then shut everybody up has brought me maybe the most joy i've ever felt watching sports. The way they feed off each other and dominate together is just amazing to me.

Hate to answer with bias, but i don't know that there is any other way to answer this question.

The D (where it's so cold)
Penny/Shaq- Kobe/Shaq is the inferior of the Shaq duos because Penny meshed better with Shaq than Kobe did just based off the fact he was an all around better distributor, remember Penny was on the verge of be the 2nd coming of Magic plus he could score, not as effortlessly as Kobe but enough to still be lethal from the perimeter. Even in their limited time together they beat the MJ's Bulls and went to the Finals, the potential was there.

Isiah/Dumars- this duo is lethal mostly from an offensive standpoint even with Dumars being an underrated lock down defensive players. Zeke is the greatest point guard ever and Dumars was a great 3 point threat second only to Vinnie Johnson. They are under sized by today's standard so that might give them problems but they still would dominate.

Darius Miles/Quentin Richardson- "Yo duke ya dead wrong you'll never have the skills like mines" From the Jordan commercial, the antennas and the 2002 Rookie game that was basically the Clipper duo vs Jason Richardson, these dudes were the OG Lob City. I have them at #3 because their time together amounted to nothing but SC highlights and no real team success but they are my go to duo if I'm want to watch something while exercising.

worst duo comprised of NBA greats
Iverson/Duncan-I was going to put Kobe/Howard for :troll: but then I remembered someone posted the pic of AI and Duncan in the sports greatest disappointment thread. Man, the 2004 USA Men teams basically ruined basketball for me. I blame Marbury most of all but you would have thought AI and Duncan talents alone would have made up anything the team lacked. NOPE.:laff:

But Kareem was still one of the 5-6 best players in the league From 79-86 and was an all star level player 87-88.

The Suporting cast gap is enormous. James worthy, Bryon Scott DPOY Michael cooper etc :merchant:

There's a reason shaq And Kobe had to average around 30 a piece. There was no one else to carry the load

They had the worst comp as well.

In the finals? Yea but the finals was irrelavant in early 00's. But the Competetion between the 80's west and 00's west is a joke. Magic and Kareem had years where they didnt have to beat a 50 win team to get to the finals:deadrose:

That's 00's eastern conference bad
