As far as the actual question I gotta with Magic/Kareem. It's really the perfect combo. You have a big guard who can pass like no other and score and rebound when needed. You have a big man who is unstoppable offensively. Not sure how you beat that.

Kobe and Shaq could've been but they allowed bullshyt to stand in their way. Cant' go with Mike and Scottie because they were both perimeter guys. To much redundancy IMO. I'm not sure how Cous and Russel would translate across generations.

For example

1987 Lakers playoff competition before finals

37 win nuggets/39 win sonics/42 win warriors

2001 Lakers playoff competition to finals

58 win spurs/50 win Blazers/55 win kings

:deadmanny: not even comparable none of the 80's teams would even make the playoffs in the 00's

The west outside the lakers in the 80's were 00 east status. But the lakers could've won 8 rings if it wasn't for the pistons, sixers, and celtics

Penny/Shaq- Kobe/Shaq is the inferior of the Shaq duos because Penny meshed better with Shaq than Kobe did just based off the fact he was an all around better distributor, remember Penny was on the verge of be the 2nd coming of Magic plus he could score, not as effortlessly as Kobe but enough to still be lethal from the perimeter. Even in their limited time together they beat the MJ's Bulls and went to the Finals, the potential was there.

Isiah/Dumars- this duo is lethal mostly from an offensive standpoint even with Dumars being an underrated lock down defensive players. Zeke is the greatest point guard ever and Dumars was a great 3 point threat second only to Vinnie Johnson. They are under sized by today's standard so that might give them problems but they still would dominate.

Darius Miles/Quentin Richardson- "Yo duke ya dead wrong you'll never have the skills like mines" From the Jordan commercial, the antennas and the 2002 Rookie game that was basically the Clipper duo vs Jason Richardson, these dudes were the OG Lob City. I have them at #3 because their time together amounted to nothing but SC highlights and no real team success but they are my go to duo if I'm want to watch something while exercising.

worst duo comprised of NBA greats
Iverson/Duncan-I was going to put Kobe/Howard for :troll: but then I remembered someone posted the pic of AI and Duncan in the sports greatest disappointment thread. Man, the 2004 USA Men teams basically ruined basketball for me. I blame Marbury most of all but you would have thought AI and Duncan talents alone would have made up anything the team lacked. NOPE.:laff:

So penny/shaq is greater than kobe/shaq based off of not actual results like 3 championships but potential? :comeon:

Alot of nba players could have been all time greats based on potential but that's all it is.............potential.
