CNA?
Monitor Tech
Surgical Technician?

Which one iyo is the best entry level position into the Healthcare field? Surgical Tech is a year long full time course and the most expensive, CNA is short but low paying, Monitor Tech is something I know little about.

Might as well apply for Licensed Practical Nursing aka LPN. It only take 1 year to complete and you can always go back and do an LPN to RN bridge program within 1 year. Becoming a CNA could be something you do in the meantime which there are probably going to be summer classes you attend and do that while you're in an actual nursing program.

Well I planned on quitting my job and going full time days, so I wanted something a little quicker since I'll be going in my savings.

A year is nothing...2015 is almost half way over...study for the HESI entraince exam and take that. CNA classes can be done within a few weeks @ a community college or hospital that's looking for CNAs.

So school basically prepares you for the hesi exam? I'm going to inquire about the lpn tomorrow at a vocational school around here.

What about monitor tech to cardiovascular tech? That's a bit more IT related?

You have to prepare for that on your own...

Use google to find practice tests to get a feel for the material. The higher you score the better chance they have of picking you for the program.

If you are just getting in, check out vocational schools in your area. I went through a health technology program in highschool that just went in order with getting you certified for things so as you go along you can get hired as a cna etc while you are still studying up to be the next level.
