1 The one that started it all


I started 7 back in 97 and finally finished it in March of this year
( really)
I was determined to finish.

but when I did,
I went out boss style
Has 3 mime materia and knights of the round equipped
the party was around level 80 and was basically unfukkwittable!

My favorite is either FF7 or FF9

but I loved FF8, 10 and FF4

Haven't beat any of the other ones.

As far as gameplay, FF9 was the best. But the story/characters were boring as hell and you went too long at times without anything really happening.

FF8 was on its way to being great until you finish the second disc then it turns to ass, plus the draw system is tedious. Seifer could've been one of the goats if they did it correctly.


7,10 and 1 were the best ones I've played. Still haven't played 4, 5, 6, and 12 though.

But seriously, I haven't played them in minute so my memory is fuzzy. I remember having a lot of fun with 4 when I played it on a emulator and 10 when that came out. But from memory, I'd say 7 with 6 slightly behind it. 6 had the best villain I can recall though.

9 was so superior but i just couldnt connect with the party

8 is so unjustly hated on...the shyt is damn near perfect until that last disc... FF8 without that last disc + the random ass final boss is basically awesome. the Draw system was bad but it didnt break the game...

oh and the story of 12 sucked but it was DAMN fun to play...the Gilgamesh fight in 12 was some of the most fun ive had in a boss battle in a LOOOOOOONG time

The draw system was so horrid....just hated it. HATED IT.

I actually loved the story of XII, a lot of intrigue and depth to it. It was just that the story directly impacted NPCs much more than any of the party except for Ashe and Basch, which made either the players seem irrelevant (with Vaan being EXTRA irrelevant) or the story seem irrelevant (I still say that you should have played as Larsa or Bagranth throughout the game, or at least make Ashe the main).

Easily the funniest thing about the battle system is someone getting a little bit into the game (say, to the Tiamat fight) and realizing that quickenings don't mean shyt unless you're chaining at least 5 of them or so. They're going while you're going . That was always hilarious to me.

The only games I haven't really played in the main series is 1 & 2, so I can't speak on those two, but I don't dislike any of the other games in the main series though

Easily Final Fantasy II (in the U.S) which is IV.

Effects, music, characters, story and gameplay all were the best it could get pound for pound imo.

That final team of Cecil, Rosa, Edge, Rydia, and Kain >

No swapping in and out, just a story through and through.
