its the truth breh...I even prefer X over over-rated ass VII...Matter of fact, FF VII aint even in my top 5 RPG's of all time...VII was fun but i dont see the hype...The game was the easiest out of most of them...Graphics were "ground breaking" for its time but the storyline wasn't that great IMO...
My all time favorite RPG is Phantasy Star IV which shyts on any FF game...Close second would be Shining Force II...

I only started playing FF when 7 came out...but played most of them after that.
7 was my favorite and probably my second fav RPG period...which ever FF is the one where you had to create a tank/healer to be able to survive has the best game play hands down of all the FF's....image FF7 with that gameplay
If FF6 really that good brehs? I have it somewhere in my house I just never played it. Came in some kind of combo disk with FF5...I tried to get into 5 and couldn't so I never bothered with 6.
Chrono Trigger is the GOAT RPG period.

FFX was great to me but the game was held back by a bytch ass main character and a shytty antagonist. Cloud>>>>>Tidus in every way possible. Sephiroth>>>>>Jecht/Sin. The graphics were groundbreaking at the time for X too and the story wasn't great either. Most people love it cuz of the battle system and the twist ending. There were so many layers to FF7 story that it takes a dump on X. If anything X is overrated as fukk.

I see some people still don't understand what "Overrated" actually means. Something can be good or even great and still be overrated.
Final Fantasy VII was a great game, but it's overrated because people act as if it's the greatest RPG ever made, it's not even the best game in the damn series.

Thats YOUR opinion breh...the best game in the series is also YOUR opinion. Here are facts though, it's not overrated when other FF games are constantly compared to it. It's not overrated when fans have been screaming for a remake of FF7 for the past decade or so and could care less about a remake of any other FF. Thats greatness.

And people clamoring for a remake of the series just means the shyt is popular. Popularity is NOT the same thing as quality.

If you love Chrono Trigger, you'll probably like FF6.
As far as I'm concerned, 6 has by far the best cast of characters in the franchise. Nearly all of them are likable and they all receive very good balanced character development (except maybe 2 characters), which is kinda impressive considering the number of characters there are. Story is solid too. A lot of genuinely touching moments. Villains are cool too. Kefka man, fukking Kefka.
Gameplay is classic FF status, although nowadays the random enemy encounter can be a little bit annoying. The music of course is as brilliant as the other entries. Good designs and graphics that have aged fairly well.
All in all, I really recommend you play this game. I think FF7 takes alot of elements from FF6. I also think you can't call yourself a FF fan until you at least play:

Also, as far as FF7 being overrated...I kinda agree. It's the game that got me into RPG's but there have been RPG's just as good or better before and after. It also hasn't aged all that well. As far as the best JRPG's I've ever played this is my top tier list(no order):
-Chrono Trigger
-Xenoblade Chronicles (this is so damn good)
-The World Ends With You
-Xenogears (if it wasn't for Square not having enough money and being able to have an actual fukking 2nd disc this would probably be the goat)
-Super Mario RPG
-FF6
-Pokemon
Next tier would be:
-FF7,4,10
-Tales of Phantasia
-Star Ocean
-Radiant Historia
-Secret of Mana
-Seiken Densetsu 3 (Secret of Mana 2 just about),
-Chrono Cross (probably best game soundtrack ever, although it kinda took a shyt on Chrono Triggers characters so that kinda pisses me off)

Yep. Simple yet incredibly effective mechanics that offer great gameplay. Simple story and characters that don't drag the game down. Great multiplayer. Classic music. A defining game that takes advantage of it being a handheld. I would say Red/Blue if I had choose one Pokemon game due to it being the originator, but Gold/Silver comes really close. Don't really care about the rest.
