3 Guys have won championships as the only star on their team in the modern era.

Akeem.
Duncan.
Dirk.
and one out of the three mentioned one had a team good enough to allow him to win a championship as a one dimensional player

Duncan had manu and Parker
(they weren't stars yet, see below)

Clyde Dexter, Tony Parker, David Robinson, Manu Ginobili, Tyson Chandler, Jason Kidd

:usure:

Go back and check your dates.

Clyde doesn't arrive till the second chip, and when he does... he's MUCH diminished.

Robinson was no longer a star by the time Duncan was winning championships, and I'm talking about the season after Drob returned.

Parker was getting benched for claxton, and manu was getting 12 minutes per.

Chandler a star? :skip: And Jason Kidd was 73 years old.

You probably don't know the difference between a star, and a guy that USED to be a star. But that's why posters like me are in this forum. To help teach you.

I have a hard time accepting Timmy in that category. Maybe i'm biased because of my respect for David Robinson and Tony Parker. Granted, Robinson was a shell of himself when he got the second ring with Duncan but wasnt Parker balling already by then?. He was still posting up 15 pts and 10 rebs a game on that first championship despite being #2 or #3 option

Edit: Just looked it up. You're right

Bringing out that :demonic:cacness

Bringing it out?

It's always here:obama:.

We're talking about a guy that averaged almost 30 a game. He was much diminished by 95, 96. Shooting the ball 14-15 times a game to score 18 points :ld:

You look at the finals, that's six games. Your sample size lost.

He wasn't even there for the first championship, which is the one I'm talking about. I only mentioned Drex in the second championship, because people that don't follow hoops love to respond to that comment, and forget he was traded mid season AFTER Dream won a title.

Welcome to that list.

Using your definitions, 2006 Wade also qualifies. All his "stars" were :flabbynsick:, incluing :shaq:

I'd be willing to listen to this argument, but shaq did 20/10/2/2 that season and shot 60% from the floor. He was still a force in 06, though Wade was clearly the leader.
