I clown 50 a lot but real talk he should've won Best New Artist at the Grammys that year.

Because they gave Kast Album Of The Year I think the academy didn't want to show Hip Hop too much love so they shaded 50

Dude was a complete non-factor in 2011 culturally. Just coming out the gate on the freshman XXL cover. Section. 80 sold 5,000 copies as an indy digital release. I bet half the Coli didn't hear the project in '11 or even know who he was. Yet, he won MVP. It's not like S80 was head and shoulders above the top tier 2011 releases either.

I personally would have went with Drake or given it to Jay or Kanye. Kendrick was literally a rookie building his draw off mixtapes, blogs, magazines, and Drake/Dr. Dre co-signs.

Yea Kendrick didn't deserve MVP of 2011....

Kendrick winning 2011 was simply the Coli shytting on Drake. He had the best combination of critical acclaim, commercial success, features, influence/impact, and MVP appeal and he took the crown from Wayne when he dropped his album. The Coli doesn't like Watch The Throne much so I'm not surprised Ye nor Jay won.
Some of these nikkas are full of shyt. They didn't check for Section 8.0 till they heard Swimming Pools and decided to go back and check it out

That's my vote, I'm not basing it off how famous somebody was that year or record sales but the best project/skills.
The best project/skills means something but so does fame and sales. They all fit into the equation. We're talking about who was the best that year in the majority of categories. Some of yall have a real hard time being objective

I'm voting off the best projects/skills, fame and sales don't mean nothing to me. The album charted anyway to some degree, not that it matters. I'm voting strictly off that, if it was the most successful artist that year would vote completely different, infact we may not even have to vote as can just look at the sales, but would be quite boring then....

Dude its called MVP for a reason. KRS wasn't anywhere close to being most valuable in 03. GRODT was far from my favorite album in 03 but Im not a fool enough to think 50 wasn't the biggest rapper in the game. If we were voting strictly off fame and sales MC Hammer woulda won in a landslide in 1990
