I think Ima go with Crooked I

Talent wise Crooked I is one of the best Mcs to ever rap. But material wise he's one of the worst. He doesn't have 1 single classic song in his entire discography and he's been rapping for 20 years. It's not that his material is even wack it's just so completely forgettable.

Who y'all think

Apex Predator, Pigface Weapon Waist, and even some of his stuff on Deathrow was garbage.

AZ is probably my answer too. If only he had album full of gems like this

AZ, who is one of my very favorite MCs of all time....I thought about him, but no way I can put him in this category. His discography was weak in terms of sales and commercial success. As far as quality and critical acclaim mostly all his albums were solid at worst.

In terms of sheer talent and recorded output? Nas in my opinion. Illmatic is classic, It was Written was decent.. after that, shyt gets really hazy. :martin:

Pieces of a Man is at least a 4.0/5. Love that album :wow:

wasnt a classic but a VERY underrated album that was poorly promoted because of the Firm "fiasco", "Hey AZ" not being included on the album, and AZ's subsequent release from the label. 9 Lives and Aziatic were good follow ups but his momentum was gone....Nas basically distanced himself from him and the download era was in full force.

I think Ras Kass fits in here somewhere. Never had successful albums despite having decent budget and production, even had Dre. What kills his discog mainly is that he recorded about 8 studio albums and only 4 of them made it to the shelves.

Nah, Soul on Ice (personal classic) consensus wise was a great record and Rassassination was a solid record. Also, last year's Blasphemy with Apollo Brown was one of the best albums of 2014.

I'm a fan but I gotta say Em

Crooked I does not have any record as good as the I don't give a fukk series, the Hallie's mom series, or any of em's devil night to horror core records.
Nor, does he have any early material as good as biterphobia to infinite and he has no black radio style sing as good as tonite, either.

Nor, does any rapper in rap other than king gordy have a better record about being poor since 1998.

nikkaz, be lying and real talk,...
Soldier and cleaning out my closet are still as good,...if not the best pac biter stand cline war song ever made by Pac biters.
Who try to act like em never made records jn the style they like when it is a bonafide lie.

I haven't been compelled to re-listen to any ras after on the run and ah ha.
After that he was to offkey for me to give my attention to any more.
After he never failed to ramp in the changes from sonic landscape to sonic landscape.

not saying their discography is bad/worst, but these rappers shouldve had at least one classic under their belt considering their skills:

em
az
bis
