Missy is way bigger than E-40 in any category.
Who said she wasn't?
I've said like 10 times that 40 was regional in this thread. :russ:
You thought E-40 was doing 100k an album back in the 90s (if you even knew he was around back then). Just take your L breh. :yeshrug:

Look at you giddy about a sales convo :mjlol:

All the times on The Coli you say sales are irrelevant and not worth talking about. Are you switching like a bytch when it's convenient?

Because that's spooky :jbhmm:

:dwillhuh:what is it with thecoli callin nikkas with gold and platinum plaques regional?

does not being played up north = regional? cause if we wanna talk about what aint getting burn down south or on the west, feelings getting hurt:dame:
People use the term regional in a variety of ways and it gets confusing.
Very few artists back in the 90s were getting nationwide "urban" daytime radio play.
The video shows evened out the playing field for all regions.
The east always had "real" hip hop heads almost everywhere. You could fail to go gold in the East and not be regional.
Most people in there regions fukked primarily with what was hot in their region. Most people aren't really hip hop fans like that.
In the South and (to a lesser extent the Bay) you could go gold (maybe even platinum) and still be "regional". People in those markets bought albums more for whatever reason. I'm from the Bay and I never knew anyone who had a 8Ball and MJG or UGK album - but they were going gold in the mid 90s.

Sales are irrelevant for conversations of quality of music.
That's not why I brought it up. I brought it up to counter the idea that you could be a hip hop fan (I guess in the US) in the 90s and not know who 40 was. You may have hated his music (seems a lot of people did :mjcry:) but you knew who he was :yeshrug:

branding yourself as an internet meme has nothing to do with being a rapper, so yea, lil b might be more known than 40, but you said he's more influential as a rapper which is lies...stop

several trash artists from this generation has taken lessons from Lil B...I never said it was a good thing...imitations are never as good as the original...TYBG

Have you read the thread title? We're talking about who is the better artist. Obviously quality is going to be the number one measure.

So which one is it breh? Sales are relevant/irrelevant? :hula:
