and theres are reason Juve went 4x plat which is more than what WU and Big did on those albums or Nas has done on any album, so what you saying? You talkin bout they clowned him in the east...meanwhile Jigga, Foxy, Ruff Ryders, DJ Clue, Puff, 50 grabbing him for features and tours..this what im talking bout. if it aint from up top, nikkas simply cant give it credit. It is what it is.

I mentioned west and east classics not just up top

This the problem

You nikkas have such a inferior complex with the east

nikkas logic go out the window

no one cares about Juvenile. Not only is he irrelevant to this convo, he also doesn't have a career a classic album to speak of. nikka's a glorified Sir-Mix-A Lot with a hip hop legacy built on a fluke (tell me how brilliant those subsequent Juvenile songs/albums were :troll:)

Let the tears begin

Yeah. Most of @Mephistopheles' threads are like this. And people take the bait every time.
Every time.
It's a shame, really.

It's easy if you think about it...same threadstarter made a thread last week about how
he has a disdain for Bay rap that stretches over a long period. It was a success (for lack of a better word).

He also in the past has expressed that he doesn't particularly like Missy much either -
but he's from VA, so I guess he has more of a tolerance of her. So this is another
"let me troll the Bay region" thread. And it worked again. They take the bait every time.

Every time.
Yeah no doubt, is a shame, discussion could be so much more interesting with a better approach.

I hated Juvenile with a passion when Ha dropped. Thought it was the worst shyt ever.
Never listened to a Juvenile album or any other Cash Money album. Thought Manny Fresh was trash outside of a few beats here and there.
Went back and listened to the album before 400 Degreez. Solja Rags. It's actually not bad. Juvenile can rap. Check out Money in the Couch. I was legit impressed.
400 Degreez is nothing special to me...I'd be hard pressed to say its not a classic though.

But that's not your point. You're moving goalposts. Originally you said most people outside the west coast didn't know who he was and that he didn't have a song that was big enough to capture attention nationwide. But now I've shown you that he's had three gold albums and a platinum album. I've also shown you that he had a song that charted as high as #13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard is always a little shaky to me, but that proves the song was getting burn nationwide.

So now your argument is well he was successful for a few years in the 90s and then again in 2006. So what? Most rappers have a period where they are most successful, most don't pop up a second time almost a decade later.

You still owe us that list of 100 rappers more successful than 40 based on sales.

Or you could just admit you didn't really know what you were talking about.

First of all I never said 100 rapper more successful more than 40 based on sales. You are now changing my original argument. He was Plat in an era when a lot of people went plat. We don't even have to talk about Gold, you can still be regional in those times and have success like that.

Here's what you wrote. I have no idea what you mean by "noticeable". What else do you want to use to measure success other than sales?
He really didn't, you looking at your self like its the norm. But he was regional and most people would attest to that. I'm sure he has had a song get played in different parts of the country. I mean he even had a song with and music video with fabulous so he got some minor attention form the east coast. But lets be facts here he is pretty non existent in hiphop once you move away from the bay area. I could probably name nearly 100 rappers that are more noticeable and successful than E-40. For somebody that has been in the game soon long and has put out so many albums he is still looking for his big break lol.
