Nas had a relevant album when I was in elementary school, junior high, HS, college and adulthood.

Nas is the most respected lyricist of his generation

Nas made better albums that have stood the test of time

Are yall smoking crack :mjtf:

All respect to Nas but LL had multiple hit records, movies, tv shows, ect. He has the greatest career of all hip hop artists (well him and snoop) and up there with all musical acts. The LL disrespect is crazy :wtf:
Best career. Pump your breaks. But its better than Nas for sure

I've listened to every LL album :yeshrug:
Not denying he was the man back then

You said he was better in everything except movies and TV. LL was the first template multi platinum rap superstar solo. And he dominated as a solo artist in the 80's in a way Nas never did. Nas, in every decade he was hot, had to share the spotlight, he was never a dominating #1 solo like LL in the 80's.

Let me add....LL been getting them NCIS checks since 2008 and he's still getting a check from them. He's in the same status as Ice T on Law & Order. LL is household name status on a mainstream level Nas isn't.

Nas career is not anywhere near LL

Nas has sold more records overall than LL Cool J.

Nas has sold over 35 million albums worldwide (with 20 million+ in the U.S.) over his career.

LL Cool J’s total album sales are generally estimated at around 13–14 million albums sold globally.

Nas has more classics and has been considered THEE GOAT. LL is one of the GOATS though.

The man was a star in 85 at 16 years old and was still dropping hits in the 2000s. The nikka was out before Rakim, Kane, KRS, etc. Like very few can say they had that type of longevity in music. I listen to Nas more but man LL got this one even Nas would admit.

And that's why I said you weren't around in the 80's. Radio and Rock The Bells were powerhouses in the streets but you didn't experience that. All the kids were saying either "I can't live without my radio" and "LL Cool J is hard as (look around to make sure no parents are within earshot) Hell!" You weren't there.

"I need love" is when LL became the iconic rapper heartthrob. Nas attempts to make songs for the ladies always fell short compared to LL

Bad video... the 'take off ya shirt and show ya chest' trend starts now

Cube jacking "Big Ole Butt" on Jackin For Beats, because the beat was sick.

Biggie flipping "I'm Going Back To Cali" Biggie never flipped anyting Nas did.

Mamma Said Knock You Out. A PERFECT ALBUM. Both Marly Marl and LL's magnum opus. 14 songs, all great. Hit after hit after hit from just this album alone. The quotables from this album alone were too many. When MSKYO hit it was similar to when Jay Z dropped Blueprint.

Cheesy Rat had the Scenerio remix beat first.

Around The Way Girl....the origin of the sped up chipmunk sample

All of this was before the BBQ song and Halftime.

LOL @ bringing up who sold more. We didn't do that dumb shyt in the 80's. EPMD and NWA both spoke against aiming for the charts yet here you are using it as some sort of measuring stick. Got me doing the Googles on that one and Nas' biggest seller was 3 while LL's was 2. But you left out that LL had numerous solo singles that went platinum while Nas has zero solo singles that went platinum. Nas needed help from Missy, Lauryn, Jeezy and 2Pac to get platinum singles.

Who has the better music is subjective but Nas is without a doubt lyrically superior.

Let's be real.

Even though LL is a GOAT contender, he rarely gets brought up in the GOAT conversations like Nas.

Even Rakim gets brought up more than him.

Nas not only outlasted LL in relevance but his catalog is held in a much higher regard and he also outsold LL too.

LL may have more recognizable hits but Nas is just on a higher level than him. Let's be honest. LL's last album which was good btw doesn't even get talked about much these days whereas Nas's KD series and the project with Premo are still talked about a lot.
