And I wouldn't say LBJ is a better defender than Hakeem. Hakeem was a super versatile defensive big for his day. And even if LBJ is more versatile defensively overall, Hakeem was better at rim protection and anchoring his defense Better than LBJ was in terms of versatility. All of LBJ's title teams have had an all-defensive player playing alongside of him. He's never been asked to be the sole defensive stalwart on his team. Whether it was playing with Battier/Wade/Bosh.

Buuuuut, on the flip side his defensive versatility made those lineups work for those heat teams.

Hakeem is more impactful defensively but Lebron is absolutely an elite defensive anchor. Lebron's athletic ability, vision, high IQ, and ability to break apart defenses to get quick transition buckets is elite which allows him to be an anchor.

Lebron's offense and ability to create plays for other is obviously much better than Hakeem.

hakeem couldn't make up for the defense and play-making abilities lebron brings, guy has the best vision and passing we've seen since magic with lock down defense and ability to drop 40 whenever.

Hakeem's carry job with the 94 rockets was historic no question.

If hakeem all of sudden turns into a ball handler and averages 8 assists a game maybe there would be a debate.
